@0:30 A camera pointed to a radio show = Podcast. One of the most successful programming since 2020. It's interesting how full circle we've come. There's something to be said about truth residing in our 1st impulses and value hiding in old habits.

@pqsk13 күн бұрын
You mean podcasts have gotten big since 2020? Because podcasts are older than that. I've been listening to podcasts for much longer than that. I do get your point though, just curious though
@kamu74713 күн бұрын
@pqsk you're right that podcasts are over a decade old, the term was coined in 2004, and Steve Jobs even popularised the term to market itunes. Joe Rogan was even podcasting as way back as 2013 to a handful of listeners. So, I'm not saying that podcasts are a new thing. But they were sort of a niche taste that took a while to take flight. Podcast subscribers exploded post 2020, and now that the formula has been improved, there's a podcast to suit every person's taste. With that said, even though podcasting has some critics, it is generally loved by a majority, which highlights that our base instinct to film a radio show had merit. Steve Jobs' point about breaking away from old habits stands, that's where innovation lies, but at the same time, paying attention to old habits is like embracing the roundness of the wheel - It works. There's comfort and power in what's familiar. Sooner or later, we tend to return to them.
@pqsk13 күн бұрын
@ gotcha. Wasn’t sure. Very good points too.
@4.0.413 күн бұрын
@@pqskit's true podcasts existed, but think of it this way: this last election, almost every single celebrity in the entire "old media" endorsed one candidate, and half a dozen podcasters endorsed the other, to a much wider audience. In a way it's similar to the earlier Obama victory when the democrats were more in touch with young voters and the free internet culture.

@@nooahchannel I was surprised that Apple released that Vision Pro because, imo, Jobs would never release something like that. I would have thought there was enough people from the Jobs era where they would have cautioned Cook not to release it. I think Cook knows his time at Apple is limited and he wanted to be known for more than maintaining Steve's ideas, so he pushed for the Vision Pro to be released. It solves no problems.

Perfect for a slave mentality. The key word should be reasonable expectation, your expectation should match your position in the market. Definitely wouldn't chalk it up to simply "low" expectation. I guess this is how they get the smartest people working for them for peanuts.

This might work to complete the mission but it is not the correct way to set up the smart lights. The way you have it set up if its day time they will still come on. You need to have two smart nodes per socket the night mode one and an 'And' node. Have the motion sensor and the night mode node both feed into the And node which then goes to the socket. Then it will only turn on at night AND when someone is in the room which is what they wanted.
