I remember in elementary school my class I believe it was fourth grade had a substitute teacher who covered our class for about a week. The sub brought a vinyl Tremaine Hawkins album and played it in class. I think she told us Tremaine was 18. I didn't know anything about being saved or born again. I was mesmerized to the music. When I was 15 I was introduced to the Hawkins Family through Walter's music and suddenly remembered hearing the music in fourth grade. Then I understood. Beautiful songs written to uplift the body of Christ. RIP Walter Hawkins. See you in the morning. Your music will live on.

Thanks so much for this! As a teenager, he meant so much to me! His life and spiritual walk truly propped me up during some hard times. He's always in my heart!!!
