😢 I have a 1998 GTS 717 seadoo, bought new. Does the oil injector move with the throttle. What makes the injector move. I just installed carb & cables. The throttle operates great however the injector is not spring loaded & doesn’t move with the throttle cable. Does it move only when the engine is running? Thanks.

There is a second side of the carb underneath of the portion that the jets and seat go into. You need to pry that up and get in there for complete rebuild.

why change the calipers tho? Why trust some 30 dollar made in Chyna caliper over the OEM ones made in the USA?

So it has been 20 months since the brake job. Have the Black Magic brake pads shown to be worth the double price tag? If you were to do another brake job like this would you use the same parts or go back with OEM pads?
@themrwinston9570
@themrwinston9570 Жыл бұрын
black magic brakes seem to have shot up in price since this was recorded... the 16" brake kit is now $1,566 and it's not even in stock. my level of know-how stops at turning bolts, tugging/hitting things, and pouring (spilling) fluids... any way you could help me track down links to upgrade the brakes on my TJ? I'm running 35s with the potential for 37s in the future so i kinda felt forced to go with the kit, but if there's another way, I'm extremely interested.
@jetskirehab750
@jetskirehab750 Жыл бұрын
They sell different kits, I have the more stock ish upgrade kit that used premium rotors, black magic pads, and new calipers. They also sell the vanco kits that are expensive like you said. If I was running 37s I’d be inclined to look at something like that, stock single piston calipers are not going to have fun stopping 37s.
@themrwinston9570
@themrwinston9570 Жыл бұрын
@@jetskirehab750 based on your experience, would you trust your braking setup with 35s and steelies on a mountain road? (considering both initial stopping force and brake fade) if it's really that much less $$, i could just put off 37s (possibly indefinitely)
@jetskirehab750
@jetskirehab750 Жыл бұрын
@@themrwinston9570 gotta pay to play, I probably would run the bmb stock kit like I had with 35s. They would completely lock up 33s

Hey I got a 96 seadoo speedster. twin engine twin carb. 717 rotax engines. When in the water and full throttle, the right engine bogs down. Basically drops a few RPM and then goes back up. Any ideas what I can be? I already blew out the lines, cleaned fuel filter. I also tried changing the rectifier. Same.

The loop between pulse and return is unnecessary and fallable. Just plug return and disregard pulse during test.
@jetskirehab750
@jetskirehab750 Жыл бұрын
Easier just to loop them than to plug. Plus makes sure fuel pump side is air tight.

NEVER wirewheel or file the pulse cover! You diminish the raised metal surface. This surface is essential for an air tight seal.

I just bought 2 of these. That start then runs for a few seconds and dies. One idles up real high and since i put new fuel in it wont start anymore. the other ran good until i put it in the water. Then it puttered out. I think they both need the carbs cleaned.

@jetskirehab750
@jetskirehab750 Жыл бұрын
They did not. I don’t believe it is a fault of the seals, rather my upper door hinge being bent. Take the door off and put a 4ft level across the hinges and see how far off it is. Mine is noticeably off so I have a replacement hinge on the way

Thanks for your detail explanation and it all makes sense. I've never rebuilt a PWC carb before and this will be my first one (two). I bought a 97 SeaDoo and the guy removed the choke plate and put a primer bulb hose in the hole. I guess he thought that was a good idea. He said he rebuilt it but I highly doubt it. So I bought a 96 carb on eBay and am going to rebuild it and put the 96 carb on the 97 machine. The eBay guy said they would match up but the 97 has an accelerator pump. He also said that it may take some extra dialing in/or even rebuilding the Jets to the '97 XP specifications. I'm wondering what would be the smart way to do this. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Todd

Nice video, good explain Also. I am rebuilding mine, Yamaha WR gp1200 99. I have an air leak from the "weird orings". When i dissasembled, the diaphragm was not. When i assambled it by the manual. Starts leaking air because of "weird oring" fail. I removed the diaphragm then the leak went down, but still. I sand grind the surface (flat Stone) AND get better but still leak. Same issue with the three carbs. I bought the service kit from eBay. Not Mikuni original parts. I put gasket sealant AND worked well, no leak. But i dont know if it a good Solution. What do you think i should try? New original kit? Gasoline gasket sealant? The popout pressure Is ok. Thanks un Advance,
