The Black immigrant as President conversation is very interesting. Black Jamaicans were brought to Jamaica to be slaves though, before those that ended up in what is the USA today, so there is a legacy there. The trajectory of how the island developed once slavery was abolished is vastly different than fate of African Americans in US though.

Can you base your fees on the business metrics that are improved due to DEI? The hostility comes from employees feeling judged and forced into the humiliating DEI training without any data supporting the need for the training. They feel let down by leadership for assuming there's a problem. DEI, at best, is just another full-employment gig for the HR/Talent consultants. Where are the transformational results?
@LivingCorporate6 ай бұрын
DEI is not an individual action, but a collectively owned endeavor that the entire leadership team at an organization needs to adopt and take account for. However, I think it's fair to put some variable bonus or rate against very clearly defined metrics improving, as long as the dependencies are accurately accounted for.

Thank you for making space for those of us that do not accept the status quo. It's painful to reconcile so many leaders being too afraid to help truly change systems when they have nothing to lose. I can no longer hold up the department, but I can remain true to the cause within my specific portfolio.

This is a lot of hot air to disguise the fact that it's automated bigotry. This is obviously intended to discriminate against people for being different. The n-word example is also pathetic. Like, that should have been an obvious pitfall. The fact that it made it to production shows that even if they're genuinely naive enough to believe their tool isn't used for discrimination, they aren't competent to prevent it from being used that way. Also, if you're going to call it an "unveiling", you should talk about what the thing actually is. AFAICT, it sounds like they're just grep-ing a bunch of social media, which isn't exactly note-worthy.

Why do you want to destroy a country that you obviously benefited from, Dr. Harris? Why is it important to teach kids to be angry and hateful? You can be successful and prosperous if you work hard and don't break the law. Your success is obvious proof of that. Asian Americans are far more successful than white Americans. What would America look like if you get your way and the next generation burns it all down? What will be put in its place?
@LivingCorporate8 ай бұрын
Projection = if kids learn history, they will be angry and hateful. Irony = telling a professor of history how progress historically has looked in america
