CNG just is superior to diesel in so many ways from the fanning perspective. I hate that its too expensive to own a CNG over a diesel bus because of the tanks and other mechanics the usage of cng fuel entails.

It's cheaper to own a cng.. No bs DEF systems that cost upwards of 10K to replace constantly!! By the time the tanks need replacement, you would've made your money back for the bus already... Scrap it and buy another one.

All CNG buses built as of 2010 have 20 year tanks.. The buses are removed from service generally at the 12 year mark per federal grant requirements...

Man, this is one of my favorite combinations right here I series 60 Detroit with a CFS Tronic absolutely amazing man. Do you think you could please do more exactly like this one but a lot longer and with a lot more Indian sounds and if you can try and include the start up because that would be really fun to hear. Highly impossible since all these buses have been scrapped and Greyhound no longer orders buses with DD Series 60 engines.. Also the ZF transmission is history as well.. Greyhound is all Allison now

Let's see you drive this same bus against a 10 hour drive limit.. Simply put if you aren't back at the lot before you run out of time you are screwed because legally you can't move that bus per federal DOT regulations.. That bus was retired from the fleet many years ago. Also, the 2005 Gilligs which had the same engine and transmissions were retired and sold off as well.. Now the fleet is full Gillig with a mix of diesel, cng, hybrid, and full battery electric.. All the diesel busses have a Cummins engine.

I wouldn't know that.. I'm not familiar with VOITH. All I'm really familiar with is the Allison transmission when it comes to transit buses.

@@joshalex93 dude ikr and tbh on my knowledge, the Cummins engine sounds on New Flyer buses is similar to Hyundai, Kia, Toyota and Mitsubishi Fuso Diesel engines sounds loud inside the bus with manual gearbox in it and according to Wikipedia, the Allison Transmissions shifts like a gearbox on the buses as well when it changes gears on direct drive system.
