If your study bible is based on a flawed translation, it's not study notes you should listen to. If you are a beginner, you have no discernment to know how you are being misled. Beginners should just read a solid translation on it's own first before submitting to someone else's indoctrination notes. NASB (77, or 95) is perhaps the best literal translation. If you absolutely need help you can get an Amplified Bible (AMP) which adds clarifications to the text without altering the text, and without editorial opinion. The Lord did not provide us scriptures that require "experts" to interpret for us. Do not concern yourself so much about gleaning everything when you read. If you are born again, the Spirit will help you understand what you are ready for. The Bible is a living word. It's not something you read once and understand like a text book. Just read it and let God speak to you as He wills. After all, it is His revelation to us about Him. And don't forget to pray before you read. Go with God. 🙏

Very cool, thanks! Yes, it always makes sense to wait. The price usually goes down, sometimes significantly. I am always fascinated by old tablets. It's incredible to think that someone once held that thing! And they would be astounded by the fact that all this time later, future generations get to read what they wrote. It really is as close as we can get to a time machine.

I do not read the nlt , however, many people do- and I can’t help but think that the illustrated nlt looks to be a wonderful study bible for new Christian or a senior Christian.
