Can you explain why LS1, 2 and 3 engines have a tapping noise at cold start up..... This is very common amongst us in the Corvette community... It goes away when the temperature rises... Great video topic!

Piston slap usually but depending on mileage/usage it could be lifter tick

@@WilliamN5607 yea I’m referring to the lifter ticks on cold start ups …. In the Corvette forums it’s like almost all LS1 engines do it. Recently, I bought a can of B12 fuel system cleaner… I swear now I hardly hear the ticking. Is it related to the valves ? I don’t know but it’s common. A video would be great!

Yep 2004 only year of the ls1 in the gto I don't remember if it's iron block or not I know the ls2 and ls3 both were aluminum I might be confused on the ls1 and be thinking of the truck 5.7 liter which had a different nomenclature then the standard ls1

What do you do for work? Pretty good day opening that box and bringing the lucky car into 2024 where old cars can live to their potential and be what we imagined they were when they were new but they actually do what we told storys about them doing that they didnt do like jumping a coke can or hundred dollar bill on the dash or breaking the seat bolts off. But yeah that is just an engine to most. To me thats a canvas to paint a car on.

Did the swap now it won’t start up with the gen 4 sensor but when I use the gen 3 crank sensor it fires up help ! Have a 5.3 gen 4
