This is a great book. But it's also an extremely dangerous book as very few applications need architectures that are relevant in this book. I've seen tons of startups burn massive amounts of money prematurely implementing things in here thinking that they need Facebook-scale infrastructure. There's a long running joke that an AWS salesperson once saw a CIO with this book in the CIO's bookshelf and knew that he was going to make a ton of money.
