Abisko Lite 1.... I'm trapped with it myself. The only problem I see is the lack of availability for spare parts. What if you breack the main pole? Probably the pole for an Akto may work... What if you lose one of the four shorter poles? good luck with that :D. I've searched a lot and there's no spare parts at all from Fajlraven... but thy continue selling the tent.
@WestieTravels16 күн бұрын
Just checked that out! You're correct, no spare parts anywhere, very strange, hopefully just a short term thing 😀

@@WestieTravels Thanks for keeping answering our comments! I'm afraid though it's not temporarily, same situation around 6 months ago... Today I received a 300mm crappy pole from Aliexpress and could confirm it works just fine. That leads me to think the Akto pole (293mm) will be perfect... so money goes to Hilleberg... either to buy poles or directly a Unna knowing this brand doesn't leave anybody behind
@WestieTravels16 күн бұрын
@SoparinKielr ah, that's not good! Can you not even buy a single section of a fjallraven pole somewhere and change it over?

I absolutely detest the Abisko Lite 1 and 2. Any tent you cannot sit up in without pressing your head into the top of the tent is next to worthless. Just buy a OR Helium Bivy you are okay with lack of space inside. The Abisko Lite 2 also has too much useless space inside the vesitubule. While it does allow you to enter the sleeping quarters of the tent without the weather also entering, the long sloping vestibule leaves really no room for egress without also tossing your pack out into the weather. I really love the Abisko View 2. You can sit up in it and the vestibule is large enough to place your pack in without it being in the way.
@WestieTravels2 ай бұрын
Love my Abisko view 2 as well, but I've had it up in the mountains in high winds and it just doesn't perform as well as the four season lite tents, as always, there's no such thing as a perfect tent, in my opinion, it really is horses for courses!... thanks for watching and commenting 👍

@@WestieTravels I have a Hilleberg Nammatj GT that is a beast in high winds. I had it during a winter storm with 100 kph winds and driving snow and it stood up to storm without any issues. The whole time I was in the tent listening to the drumming of storm I was thinking I was bloody stupid for camping out when the storm was expected. It is also a beast in the pocketbook when it comes time to purchase it.

Of course NOW youtube gives me this video, not while I was searching "abisko lite 1" on every platform over the past week or so... I did end up ordering the Lite 1 yesterday, after waffling between it and the very similar Scarp 1. That Lite 2 here looks wonderfully palatial for one person but I just couldn't pass up that 3lbs/1.5kg and packability of the Lite 1. We'll see once it arrives next week if the space works for me!

Didn't realise that! Id presume that being an American company they'd be popular over there! Seeing as one of the manufacturers recommends a waterproof covering for your sleeping bag, or a little towel to wipe down the condensation on the inner of the tent, and then charges you a considerable amount more then the other manufacturer, the decision is easy !!!
