I partially agree with this perspective. Yes, let them play, but it's important to analyze their performance afterward. The key question is: what’s the goal? Are we playing just for fun, or are we aiming for college or professional levels? If the goal is college or pro, then discussing their play becomes essential. They need to be prepared for the scrutiny they’ll face from coaches, who will provide direct feedback. I also share concerns about the overly dogmatic approach many parents take, which often involves yelling and criticizing their child’s performance. Instead of that, it’s crucial to foster constructive communication. For instance, ask questions like, “What were you thinking when you took that shot?” or “Why were you positioned in the corner?” Encouraging thoughtful dialogue is key! We are NOT here to BABY these kids. The beauty of SPORTS is its a DIRECT reflection of LIFE! Lets attack it as such!

Coach Tex is a wonderful coach. He has a great rapport with his players. He has an amazing work ethics. His team has a strong bond and they play as a TEAM! He pushes the kids to improve their game and pays attention to the players weaknesses & strengths. Based on his observations, he works with the payers individually. He offers private lessons to help players meet their goals. He also has a summer camp. He only takes limited amount of players in his camp to be able teach and develop b-ball skills.

We had just beaten a gigantic Mt.Zion team. Kimball had more than we thought. No weak spots. They could all hoop. #34 didn’t kill us in the stat sheet, but made all the right plays. Some of those calls tho 🥴 Score was 20-11, fouls at 9-4.

@@penguinhoopstv5049 thanks also for the reminder and relation to waiting the 24 hours before giving any feedback regarding the game. That was one thing that I definitely did forget. I did well in the very beginning with that after your advice. Afterwards I begin to run into issues of not remembering to talk about it or him not remembering the play or the incident that occurred that needed to be discussed.
