Love this song. I just learned it a few days ago trying to get better at it. May I ask what guitar that is? Im currently playing on a crappy 60$ target guitar, haha, but I am making do. Love the tone of the picking sound and that D chord.

I bought it new in 1989 and had it until December 2023; I LOVED it, but because of some carpal tunnel issues in my left hand, it had become too difficult to play so I found a new home for her ❤️. The good thing about that $60 Target guitar you have is that if you can make that sound good, just think how incredible you’ll sound on a nicer guitar when that happens! Keep playing, sir 😊.

@@mannykrag3486 I just went by the Google lyric sheet: “Tiger Lily Song by Luna Sweet obscenity Bring her back to me Lost in her perfume Think I'm gonna sue Sweet obscenity Didn't I know it? Didn't I call her name?” I definitely agree “swoon” makes more sense, but I listened to the studio version several times and it really sounds like he’s singing “sue” to me. Then watched a live version from KEXP and he definitely sings “swoon” there, so I’m sure you’re correct. Other than my lyrical blunder, what did you think of my cover?

@@ceknox1 So sorry I couldn’t address all the questions that poured in; there were just so many!! I’m considering doing a “Part 2,” due to overwhelming demand. Until that happens, I will gladly attempt to answer your two, ceknox1: 1. I was unaware of a Fall tour or any “buzz,” but sadly, one of the Crossties is apparently no longer on speaking terms with me, and the other three haven’t invited me to rejoin, so the short answer is probably a “no,” unless we get some lawyers involved. May be just as well since I’m so busy being retired and all. 2. I can go with patties in a pinch, but I’m definitely a link man! Something about the shape of ‘em just calls to me 🤔. The first time I met her, I told her I was also a singer/songwriter and she recommended I read a book called “The Book of Rememberences,” which I either never bought or bought but never read 🤣. I’ve covered 5 other songs of hers besides this one, if you’re interested: Lying, Strawberry Road, Flame, She Can’t Tell Time, and I Don’t Want to Fall in Love 😊. Thanks for always listening 😘.

Okay, here are the chords. To play in the same key as the record, you need to either tune the guitar down 1/2 step to: Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb OR what I did in this video, which was I used a guitar that I keep tuned 1 whole step down from standard-so D, G, C, F, A, D-and then capoed at the 1st fret.] The pattern does not change in the song. The verse chords are C, Cmai7, C7, F (2X) Chorus chords are: G, C, Fmai7, G, C, Fmai7, G Solo is same chords as verse ,then end with C Hope this is helpful 😊.

@@steverok67 Thanks, steverok67 😊. The guitar is a J-100, which is basically a J-200 but with mahogany back and sides instead of maple, and no fancy inlays. It sounds great and it was much more affordable 😊.

Since I mostly play by intuition and luck 😂, I can’t help you with the little extras I throw in, but here are the chords I used… Capo 2 Intro: G, C, G, C Verse 1: G, C, G, Em, C, D Chorus: C, D, G, Em, C, D, G, C, G, C Verse 2: same Chorus 2: same except no C, G, C after vocals finish Bridge: Em, Bm, Em, Bm, Am Em, Bm, Em, Bm, C, D Verse 3: same Chorus 3: same but add G, Em, C, D 4 times (lyrics every other time) Ending: C, Em, G C, D, G G Hope this helps!!
