LYRICS: Oh, I went up on the mountain, want to see my baby Lord, I ain't coming back, no ain't coming back Oh, roll on buddy, don't you roll so slow Baby, how can I roll when the wheel won't go? Oh there ain't one hammer in this tunnel That ring like mine, that ring like mine It ring like silver and shine like gold It ring like silver and shine like gold Oh, roll on buddy, don't you roll so slow Baby, how can I roll when the wheel won't go? Oh, that nine pound hammer that killed John Henry Ain't a-gonna kill me, ain't gonna kill me Oh, roll on buddy, don't you roll so slow Baby, how can I roll when the wheel won't go? Oh, roll on baby, don't you roll so slow Baby, how can I roll when the wheel won't go?

Does anybody know the full lyrics to this song and if you do could you write them down? I don't think there's many but I can't understand everything he's saying and I like this tune a lot, thank you God bless you.

Shady Grove my little miss, shady Grove my darling Shady Grove my little miss, I'm going back to Harlan Coffee grows on white oak trees The river flows with brandy The rocks on/and the hills are covered in gold And the girls are sweet as candy Oh can't you think my pretty little miss I can't live without you I'll let you know before I go I care but a little about you Every time I go that road it's always dark and cloudy Every time I see that girl I always tell her howdy There are more verses too. Refer to Flatt and Scruggs, the Kentucky Colonels, hot rize

I remember sitting across the supper table from this man. In Aliceville Al. In the early 60's. A lot of the Grand Ole Opry greats used to stop at my Uncle Jim Brocks house for a home cooked meal. Uncle Jim played fiddle for Jim and Jessie. Good times!!

Great music! I love bluegrass, it has a very similar soul that Irish music has, it unintentionally tells a simple story from bygone days, true folk music!

Shame on you for whoever disliked this song. I was brought up on this music my grandfather played bass and sang bass for the highland grass his name is Stanley Skidmore. He has alzheimers now but I still keep the bluegrass flowing in are family god bless.

@icewaterslim7260: KZbin has changed the conditions of the 👍🏿👎🏿 use n viewability. Originally one saw how many either way, but due to the influence of negativity from the current mainstream society's conditions, a decision was made to no longer allow anyone to see how many 👎🏿 have been applied bc ppl have purposely misused the intention of the 👎🏿👍🏿 system. This means we know that lots like something but won't know how many don't like the vid for whatever reason they don't like it.
