This movie was incredibly delightful. It did what it needed to do and brought the game to life on the big screen almost perfectly. I was smiling the entire time and I’m looking forward to the inevitable sequels. Great review! I have one myself too if you want to check it out :). Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy series truly look like Walt Disney Animation. So if Tezuka's copyright(1963, 1980) and even his derivative work(2003)'s copyright each expire in the far future, we hope there will be Disney's *Astro Boy* 3D animated movies in the far future. Then these will or may be at the high rank.

The lion wasn't a costume but real lion skins and the actor sweated profusely. In the rare breaks from filming, the skins came off and he had to be moped dry.i have the movie made about the life of L Frank Balm. In the commentary, it gave a lot of facts that i found quite interesting: 1- The TWOO book wasn't the only book he wrote. TWOO failed to sell but his previous book, "Father Goose, his story" did. He then decided to out up royalties from his previous book to pay for the painting of the book and it's very costly colour plate illustrations. 2- Frank named the Dorothy character after his niece, whom he became very close to before the sudden death of Scarlett Fever, which chained the life if many children of that time. 3- the story began as a story telling sessions he had with neighborhood children, who were captivated by each session. During the sessions, he referred to Oz simply as, "The magic land", when I little member of the audience asked about the NAME of the land. As he looked around the room for a clue, His eyes caught His two drawer drawer filing cabinet. The top drawer was labeled A-N and the bottom was labeled O-Z, and That's where the name came from! This movie is a MUST SEE to better understand the story behind the movie. It's called, "The Dreamer of Oz" staring the late great John Ritter. Did you know the original book was only the FIRST in a series of OZ books Frank wrote? They all sold very well! BTW, The Yellow Brick Road idea came from a sidewalk in his yard. The production staff wanted 300 munchkins for the movie by they were only able to get about 130 so they had to use them in several scenes. Most cane from Germany and other countries

Yeah, I'll admit, I was 9 years old when this movie came out and it was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Now, I watched it again a year ago, and I still like it, it's a guilty pleasure for me too, and the movie isn't bad. The thing I like is, two little kids kissing, you don't usually see actors that young kiss. Yeah, it's no longer a favorite movie, now The Lion King was out the same year and it's a lot better than this movie, and as I've grown up there have been a lot of movies I like more than this. I'll still give it an 8/10, but it's very far from still being one of my favorite movies now, I don't like it nearly as much as I did when I was a kid.
