Everyone knows from the mere word "hymn" that the type of music is music attributing worship to our Christian God. A 'song' refers to any tune or melody coming from the world. 'Hymn' immediately turns the thoughts to God.

My husband died June 3 and we were planning a memorial service for June 17. On the 14th I noticed your song,, “God’s Still There” and played it and cried my eyes out. We would have been married 57 years on June 11. We played that song for the memorial. I still cry when I play it.
