Interesting video, well done. Ask how many KW or BTU your burner has. Thank you

You have to have more subscribers, definitely. I’m currently experiencing a trouble with wire feeding of my MIG welder. Gotta check everything you’re mentioning in your video. Thank you very much for sharing your experience!🇺🇦🤝🇧🇪

Two years, 375 view? Maybe loud techno music and a screaming intro, don’t waste your time. Might be worthwhile without the noise.

well, I don't decide on the number of views... that's KZbin's magic and people looking for certain content... And as a non-native English speaker and no interest in doing a voice-over, I put some music on it that is royalty free and totally unnecessary so can be muted at any time... ;o)

I wouldn’t turn down painted aluminum depending on thickness obviously Pop cans give a lot of slag but the casings from lights can render a lot of aluminum with minimal slag

@ExtremeDIYinBelgium
@ExtremeDIYinBelgium Жыл бұрын
I did not abandon the project, but was too busy with numerous other projects... Apart from not really moving on on the lathe/mill conversation, I also did freeze my KZbin activities for the moment as it's a lot of time invested but not a lot in return...

Hello, i'm also from belgium and i recently bought a Simplex lathe. Did you resolve the wobble ? i have the same problem
@ExtremeDIYinBelgium
@ExtremeDIYinBelgium Жыл бұрын
well, I did not progress on this project as I did 40 other projects in the meantime... But about the wobble: some lessons learned from somebody who only started with lathes some years ago: measuring at the outside of your chuck is a bad practice. In the end it's your working piece that needs to be centered and aligned... and for this the inside of your chuck clamps/teeth (or what you are calling them) should be "centered"... I solved this (found some youtube videos doing the same thing) with clamping a dremel in the cutting tools holder and very softly grinding the inside of the clamps.

Original (1950 or so) was 1390 rpm, 1,5 hp, 5,1 A. I replaced it a couple of years ago with a 2890 rpm, 2,2kW which is 4,5 A in 3 phase

Please tell us that the ways on your lathe are not rusty and it's just the white balance making them look that way.

I can formally confirm that the ways of my lathe are not rusty. Although it's a 1950/1960's lathe, and it still has the original paint, it is in good condition.

Just starting. Literally at finding materials stage and I wanted to say that I appreciate you showing your mistakes and learned lessons. From what I've seen so far the criticisms and corrections generally appear to be respectful. That's awesome as I don't learn so well from blow-hards who really just want me to know that they know what they're doing. Keep up the Great work!

I used this PWM controller from @m@zon (not sponsored, I payed for it!): DC PWM Motor Controller Reversible 12V 24V 36V 40A High Performance Motor Speed Controller Switch CCM6Ds-B ... probably a bit over-engineered for what I was using it for, but may be it will last longer... It also has a trigger switch, so that you do not have to switch the whole PWM controller on and off when welding...

I have built 2 furnaces the oldest is a little over 20 years old two layers (5 inches thick) insulating brick 2400 on the outside next to the shell and 2600's on the inside. the third furnace is for aluminum only and is only one layer. I just wanted a train and that needed allot of iron. I haven't made many videos but the ones i have are epic (at least in my tiny world) LOL, my medium furnace holds a #16 and the tilter holds a #50 crucible Silicon carbide of course. those numbers are for aluminum with iron they hold about 40 and 200 pounds
