Is there any difference if you end up buying feminize seeds, and one of them happens to be a triploid versus buying seeds that were genetically modified to be triploid?
@WelcometoTheGrowTent2 күн бұрын
@giblet1618 how would you know it was a tripliod? There is no way to visually tell
@giblet16182 күн бұрын
@ I thought a triploid had 3 condeleden leaves. The one I have right now has three of those leaves and now it’s starting to make fan leaves by threes. As opposed to the pairs, you usually see. Is this just a mutation as opposed to a triploid?
@WelcometoTheGrowTent2 күн бұрын
@giblet1618 no,triploid is referring to its DNA. Visually they are identical

Genetics aside, the number one reason for size variation is the roots. If popping seeds don't transplant, sprout directly in the final container. Having a minimum of 9 inches of uninterrupted tap root at start is critical to explosive growth. Any kinks/twists will slow plant development. If using clones, there is unavoidable variation in root development no matter how precise you are.
@AustinC-ul3vq5 күн бұрын
I was in the 2%. I was underwatering because I was trying to avoid root rot. I didnt use perlite and I started to notice some droop when Id water. I thought no oxygen to the roots, clearly overwatering. I changed humidity, air flow, raised lights a little. Just couldnt fix it. It took me 6 weeks to realize theyve been thirsty the whole time. I was giving water at the right times (2-4 days). But I was only giving it just enough to start to recover. Then it would immediately look droopy again the next day. I wasnt letting it soak in enough because I was overthinking the perlite/root rot situation. It was a learning experience. Its been a week since I changed my approach and the plant looks beautiful now. All that stress over all the things, and it was as simple as that. 😂

Same thing is happening with me! 2 different strains 4 plants so 2 for each strain and just 1 is like 4 inches taller than the others and one is about 2 inches shorter than the others so a 6 inch spread! I already knew what to do but this is a great explanation of what to do in case and always a great watch anyway!

Plants are like my four kids. Some are chunky, some are skinny. Some tall, some short, some played outside all day when they were little. Some sit in a dark basement and play video games. Plants are kind of like that. I keep an assortment of small stands and upside down five gallon buckets as canopy equalizers. When there are a couple flowering autos, a clone and a vegging photoperiod in the 2x4 the work arounds and compromises can be difficult to juggle. I use the Mister Spock principle in those cases. “Sometimes the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.” 😊

Finding this channel really got me into growing. I'm not a beginner anymore but still watch the videos. I grow organic living soil but GT has some of the best genetics out there. I got a 4x4 bed full of magic candy mountain OG right now in week 5 of flower and the blueberry space walk is next on the list. Thanks GT

My JCK run I have three ladies in a 3x3 bed and one of the three is an absolute BEAST! The two smaller ones are identical to each other in size and flower, but the beast has cola's that are approximately 13" tall and 3.5" wide. 😳 In hindsight I wish I would have taken a clone from her to mother. I'm not going to monster crop her, she's way to thick and beyond that, and besides she's gorgeous. 😍 Sometimes genetics throws you a brick but some times you get the sweetest alley-oop you could ever imagine. Pic's in the JCK subsection on GT's discord.

Genetics are absolutely the biggest factor in size. Most F1 (first generation) hybrids will have a wide genetic variation. The parents influence the size heavily. If you cross a short female with a tall male, you will have a mix of all sizes. The taller plants are not necessarily better in any way. A good breeder should be selecting for some level of uniformity.
