There is corrosion in the battery wells, I wonder if sandblast would work better to remove the damage?
@DaveDivesIn3 ай бұрын
Probably, I’ve found they are relatively cheap to replace with a new one when you consider the amount of time it takes to refurbish them!

I enjoy your work. Whats the specs of torque, to those screws (4) to these two retrainers . And witch oil and correct amount to refill the differential. I think you corrected that noise. Thank you

Hey brother, I just rebuilt my golf cart rear end just as you did.. everything went smoothly except when I installed it and hit the gas I heard a loud constant noise.. my question is, is there a certain way the gears half to be lined up? Do they half to be the big chunk in the back and the middle gear are close to each other but not touching.. any advice you can give me on a trick to stop the noise.. I put all new bearings but took the gears out of a used rear end that had structure damage.. the gears looked good, I inspected then well.. please help.. thanks..
Any idea on ehat size bearings i need for a 93' EZGO txt? I cant find the info online anywhere

Hi Dave, can I ask where you get all your parts from for the TXT ?

I pulled my hub and bearings a few hours ago and learned that I should have tapped the hub with a plastic/ rubber hammer instead of a small steel hammer just like the shop manual said. Even though they were light taps, the cast hub broke. Duh.

If you mean the centering nut and bolt on the bottom plates, I installed them (see item 27 below). I am stood looking at manuals for 3 different lift kits, they always mount from the top (see item 28 & 29 below) madjax.com/support/manuals/16-001_6in-A-Arm-Lift-Kit_CC-Precedent_Manual.pdf

Thanks for the video! Any tips for removing that top gear and bearings? Those two bearings on the input shaft are definitely bad for me.
@allstarscryout Жыл бұрын
And any idea where that seal on the input shaft bearing can be sourced?
SOS pads (steel wool soap pads) clean alloy parts up really well. Everything looked like new, except the diff housing. But, now you know if there is a next time. Stuff like this is addictive, so I'll assume there will be a next time. Thanks for sharing.

Dave, thanks so much for making this video. I had a 'Custom Cartz' shop do some maintenance recently and it was not done properly (for starters the new axle bearings are totally shot after only 3 months...if they actually replaced them). I tried your link to the rebuild kit in your description but it no longer works. I have a 2005 EZGO TXT PDS cart with the factory Dana rear end. Couple of questions: 1.) Can you provide the link to the bearing seating tool set you used to install the bearings? 2.) Can you provide the link to the bearing puller set you used to remove the bearings from the differential? 3.) Any suggestions on removing the motor which is stuck to the input shaft (motor housing spins freely after the bolts were removed but it will not come off the input shaft? Thanks again for the great content. Cheers, Jeff (Garage Maker Guy)
I wish you had better lighting on the axles. Your camera was facing directly outside toward the light making the contrast very bad in the important stuff. You went to a lot of trouble to make the video. Cinematography needs work. Thanks, though.

How did you fill the differential oil? Mine only seems to have a drain plug. Guess I could flip it over.

At the 21:00 minute mark you are attaching the leaf spring. I'm wondering if you could tell me the part that attaches to the frame? One of these are broken on my cart when attaching new leaf springs I came across this problem. Thank you.
Well done! Mind providing your contacts? We can talk about cooperations.

Excellent video, well done mate! Unfortunately I found your video after I installed my lift kit on my club car incorrectly, I had the rear lift blocks backwards, short side was facing backwards. 😢 Wasn’t going together correctly. Missed that critical step in the paper instructions 😮. It was easier assembling second time around though 😂

Thx Mate for the tip on the longer drivers side brake cable. I had same issue with my lift kit installation.

Did you end up replacing the differential? You said the spider gear(s) had possibly too much play in it. Is that an acceptable amount of play in them? Thanks. Great video! If the diff. gears themselves are worn out, where do get them? - I can't seem to find them for sale on ebay.
@DaveDivesIn Жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, I did not. The diff was smooth and quiet after replacement of the bearings.
@steveandrews8301 Жыл бұрын
@@DaveDivesIn Thanks so much, Dave. I guess then that there is supposed to be a certain amount of acceptable “gear lash” (?) / play in those gears. Thanks again.

@@DaveDivesIn Another question, Dave, which faulty (old) bearings do you suspect were primarily causing the loud running gear / noise? Which of the old bearings seemed to be most worn out / and the least worn out, as well, and where were they located? Thanks again.

I think the driver side outboard bearing was the worst, figured I’d change them all!

@@DaveDivesIn Is that one of those two biggest bearings in the sides of the differential case that support the large, vertical (pinion?) gear? Thanks much for all your help and your previous, prompt replies! - I'm in the current process of trying to decide how to go about fixing my Mother's exact same model, (a 2009 EZGO TXT.), which has a probable bad bearing caused rear end noise. I'm not sure where exactly the noise is coming from. It seems to be heard best with the motor unloaded / foot off the accelerator, most of the times, while driving it, but not always - it doesn't seem consistent, to me, when I test drove it a couple times, and I can't nail where it's coming from. Thanks. .
