Top note fade and change after 5 years. Nobody knows what that really is supposed to smell like anymore.

I love this stuff and I'm 45. Buy it for 9.99 aud when it's on sale. Spray it on after a shower - lasts 2/3 hours and has a lovely barbershop fragrance.

Maaan, my bottle is great performer. I get easily 8 hours of longevity with strong sillage for about 3-4 hours, then it settles down, but it becomes a skin scent 6-7 hours in the drydown. Overall i found it to be a very complex scent, which i cant really appreciate, still. I’m keeping it for official occasions, dressed up at least with nice white shirt.

here in the US market ..my neighbor is a car salesman, he said collecting colognes is dumb. i said dumb? I said well check this out: I've USED all of my colognes that I've sold AND I sold them for MORE than I paid for them! Try that with your CARS here in the USA! Frags rule baby!

My story with libre: so i visited North LA for the first time and only time in 2020, for 4th of July to visit a friend from my prior navy service who still lived with his parents in their cool little home, a funny beach bum who lived basically in their basement. He is not a fragrance guy, but when I went to shower in his bathroom he had this strange half full 100ml Lhomme Libre sitting in what looked like an easter basket with the fake grass gathering MAD dust! LOL. So I took a shower in this little shower and he had Lhomme Libre body wash amongst others so now I had to try it. I rinse with some wash and was very delighted at this new experience. It smelled like how it felt to ride his motorcycle up and down the coast. It was complex. Barbershop challenging from the frustratingly tangy fresh and sandy/sunny aura only to find they blended some La Nuit DNA into the base. Wow like 3 facets being smelled at once. Barber, Bright Fresh Tangy, La Nuit base. I said "Hey Don?" as I sprayed my neck, "Where'd you get this cologne in here??" He yelled back his aunt got it for him and hes had it for years (lol). Its complex but they made it hard to dislike if you do have this fun, laid back, warm and effortlessly luxurious rich life!! But its good enough to be worn everyday.

Gyan is the best

With dua FRAGRANCES it's not always guaranteed when they do they vintage or discontinued stuff it's a exact match or even 75% close ! Supposedly they go out and pay top dollar's in search of the original to recreate the fragrance ( how true don't know??? Lol 😀) anyway but there are a few that they have done a good job recreating" so always definitely try to get a sample first when offered on there website l👈👈👈 lately I prefer when they do there own original creations.

Is it good for winter?

Dua (they pronounce it Dew-ah) Fierce is sorta similar in the opening, like you said. The Platinum Egoiste like metallic note in early Fierce is wholly absent in Dua. And the Dua is LOADED with iso e super and Ambroxan, so it’ll never really get close (no Dua ever gets that close because of the overload of fixatives and projection molecules).

I love that Samourai bottle, never had a bottle but the shape and the cap are so unique, unlike the amount of flankers it has in this same bottle. Have you ever been able to get ahold of some More classic fragrances of Alain Delon like AD Plus or Iquitos, they should also be available much in Japan, no?

P00864A1 is my batch. Also with Bvlgari written on the bottle. Could it be 2008 batch ?

Why do they change the scent of colognes from batch to batch? That always puzzled me and I’m older and don’t remember when you got a cologne, it smelled different and usually smelled the same. I mean don’t designers want their colognes to smell the same, especially if it’s their big hit cologne? I just got off eBay a slightly used Le Male Parfum with 95% full. They just shipped in a bubble bag and a few paper towels around it and no spray clip. When I opened the bag, it remakes of cologne. So some got sprayed in the bag during shipping. Didn’t know the original Le Male vintage batch smells different from the new batches. Let me check the one smaller bottle that I never used and check the batch code . Thanks

Is it cheaper in Japan?

Your two videos motivated me to pickup a 1998 version of this today at a local rare perfume store. I have to say, the difference between the modern and vintage are quite striking. The modern, which I've worn for years, is more medicinal and sharper which you don't know until you compare it to the rounder and richer vintage. There is a wonderful sherry note in the dry down which surprised me and the mid-base is so smooth and buttery. And that bottle. Getting rid of the frosted glass really cheapens the modern version. I missed out when it was around and now I have to buy some backup bottles. Thanks again, Stephen!

Hello! I recently bought the new version a few months ago because I hadn't smelled it for 30 years (I was 17 when I had it). As soon as I sprayed it, it was exactly as I remembered. From what I remember, the projection and initial sparkle of the original has diminished, but the scent profile isn't any different. What I get now as an older guy is that cranberry note, which I love. Not sure what cactus is supposed to smell like in the base. Ha ha. I think this scent really stands out from the traditional freshies, then and now. I don't feel it is dated at all and use it as an after shower fragrance these days. Keep em coming, Stephen! :)

I am guessing 90s, as both labels on the bottom of the bottle were stickers. Great find, I have a boxed bottle on the way from around the same time.
