This tops my list of favorites from RRK series of all times. Choice of questions, the flow, the time allowed on thoughts and brilliant ones at that! gosh, thank you both!

I JUST SAW HER PERFORMANCE ON 17TH JUNE ....IT WAS SO GOOD...SHE HAS JUST INVOKE MY PASSION FOR ODISSI SO MUCH WHICH CAN'T EVEN EXPRESS....I WAS ALWAYS INTO DANCE SINCE MY CHILDHOOD BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN INTO ANY CLASSES FOR IT....BECAUSE OF HER I WANT TO LEARN ODISSI...A LINE WHICH SHE SAID ''YOUR PASSION SHOULD BE A PART OF YOUR LIFE SO THAT FOR A MOMENT YOU FORGET ALL THE PAIN..'' I ABSOLUTELY AGREE TO THIS N I WILL KEEP THIS IN MY MIND....A message for her ''MA'AM YOU LITERALLY HAVE NO IDEA, YOU JUST MADE ME REALISE WHAT I TUELY LOVE DOING AND ADMIRE, COZ I WAS LOST ,AS IN WHAT TO DO?,WHAT IS THAT ONE THING I LOVE DOING?...AFTER WATCHING YOUR PERFORMANCE I HAD TEARS IN MY EYES N I KNEW WHAT I LOVE''.... For me dance is something from which I can never get tired of!! N I will start dancing again n this time ,everyday <3<3

Prachi, your series has completely got me in its grip! It started with my curiosity around Sanjukta's riyaaz, and despite having worked with her, I realised how little I knew of her space. You have shifted the gaze and conversation so beautifully and mindfully❤

So immensely intriguing all the education about this art form. Each of the sections....about the eyes, the breathwork, the co-ordination with the musicians and Kapila's own (& traditional) rituals before each performance. Thanks for bring these all out for the larget audience and looking forward to next week's episode eagerly....

Wonderful! I am a student of Bharatanatyam in the US, and not familiar with Koodiyattam, it definitely reminds me of kathakali :) It is seems like a form that is almost entirely abhinaya based, but is there pure dance as well? This series is fantastic, and I’ve enjoyed all the insights and feel so inspired with my own practice! Thank you 😊🙏

Thanks. The consistent theme for me in this episode is "compassion for self", the need to be "present" and of course, the innumerable references to the spine that Sanjukta has made throughout. Well done!

Such lovely stories from the artist, Sanjukta whose work I have tried to follow over last few years. Especially liked the part towards the end when Sanjukta speaks about breaking form, improvisation, fine tuning her "chitt-bhumi" The setting for the interview was also very apt, the ancient house with woodwork all around. Thanks for sharing some of the footage from yesteryears also!

An interesting take on the role of the audience in shaping an artist's performance. About how an audience's perception may often be diametrically opposite to what the artist may feel at that moment. About how the separation of the ego is so essential but also difficult. Liked the section towards the end when Mavin explains how he prepares for different kinds of performance ~ sometimes austere and full of concentration, and other times languid and easy going

The intensity of Mavin's love for his art and his reflections on his life-experiences comes though so strongly here. It is as if the camera is permanently glued to him in this episode. Some of the long shots of him at work, with other collaborators were deftly taken. And the "greenish tint" (incl the foliaged background during the interview) was so refreshing. Looking fwd to EP-3

Art as an experience!! So so beautiful...and so important...I experienced that feeling of an experience so moving ...while watching anna for the first time in Chennai .. Somehow the dance audience always feels they need to understand to experience...I think it is the other way
