i cannot begin to stress how difficult it is to do research if you don’t have artists in mind. like when i’m trying to do a character sheet for a cat or a sad character, something that isn’t so common, what do i get when i try to find others? AI 😭 and tbh it’s worse for more common types but damn it’s frustrating
@pbraisinbreadАй бұрын
I know exactly what you mean 😭 even when I look up reference for specific things I get AI photos 😞. There are artists like kibitzer and a bunch of others that make reference books, but sometimes I have something super specific in mind. I have many embarrassing photos I took of myself as reference too, it's rough out here

I'm intrigued by the formation of large caravans that pass through the Stem. Being a mercenary that helps make the travel through it safer and survivable, would be really cool. Awesome art btw!
@pbraisinbread2 ай бұрын
Mercenaries I think, are a big part of security in Eternis! Especially outside the Petals. One of the characters in the comic I'm working on was a former mercenary. I'm excited to go more into how they work

Oh, I love the idea of a society built on/in an artificial creation, but that has lasted so long it has outgrown the original vision for the outpost and has become more organic

I love stories where people forget their original "purpose" and it warps into mythos and almost religion or oral story passed down! It's super interesting to me, hopefully that feeling comes across as I expand the lore

My first thought the flower is like some cast system like roots are the poor the peddles are the rich and the center is the creators or the police But yours has a very interesting lore sounds like a world could be lived in

There definitely is a heavy caste system, I haven't thought much on police or military though, which is something I need to get into! Thanks for mentioning it. I know the leaves are under control of specific petals, and the stem is kinda a wild west. The Core I have some plans for though.

I love digital art, and I've done a lot of it! But I wasn't drawing much anymore and losing touch creatively. Then saw a bunch of videos of professional comic artists that still use ink and pen/brush and wanted to do that! I still make digital art though, and I really want to learn animation as well. I try to go with whatever makes me excited to make art, and not make mental rules for myself I have to follow, but it can still be difficult. Thank you for your encouragement, I hope you keep it up and make cool art too!

I can try! I'll definitely be making more speed paints or draw with me videos in the future. I'm not the best at teaching, but until I make those videos (which may take a while) my advice would be to just draw as much as you can! Find artists that inspire you and make mood boards of their work, do style studies while also drawing from real life when you can.
