Where do the other genders lie at this school? Gender is not the same thing as sex, an all-girls school does not seem very inclusive with that in mind. What about non-binary individuals or genderfluid individuals? Are they forbidden from enrolling?

This doesn’t look like the Mt Ida College that I attended in the early 70’s. I don’t see a location-perhaps there was more than one? I’m looking for the one in Newton Center MA that recently went bankrupt and was taken over by UMASS Amherst

When I saw the thumbnail, I was filled with the urge to sing the alma mater... and I was singing it along with the music in this video. Thanks to the editors for that touch. This marks the 12th birthday I am observing close alongside Madame Willard, the first being 25 Feb. 2008 (my 15th birthday) when I was a first year at Emma.

Revels, Eventide, May Day, Ring Week, Principal's Play Day and more. These traditions made my experience Emma memorable, and still wow people when I talk about my high school days with them. High school was four of the best years of my life, thanks to parts of the Emma experience just like this. Let the Great Folk Come! - Anastasia K., Class of 2011, Manor House Musician

Fantastic video! I am so thrilled to see this as an Emma Dad. We feel fortunate to have Sabra as our daughter's teacher and academic advisor.

I got misty-eyed as I saw my senior year French classroom in this video. And to know that Madame Sanwal's daughter is/was an Emma student furthers the comraderie between me and the Emma girls that came after I graduated. Foreign languages and culture have started more than a few conversations for me, and I am glad to say I don't shy away from foreign film or music as I can comprehend the general meaning of the lyrics in their native tongue.

Liz to her friends, Ms. Parry was always a great person to encounter in the gym, on the field, or even in the lunchroom. One of my greatest memories at Emma was taking lifeguard certification with her, practicing on a rescue surfboard. Kowabunga!

While not too keen as a student under Mr. Calos, I remember he was a great sports coach and colleague to talk to out of the classroom and very supportive of a hands on experience for his students learning about biology.

My only regret as an Emma alumna: I never sang in the choir under Dr. Spiro-Allen's tutelage. She was a great friend during my time there and colleague of the orchestral director, Ms. Linda McKlusky, who was also my flute lesson teacher.

It does my heart good to learn Jenny Rao will see over the school where I made my first REAL friends and learned to not be afraid of having my views challenged, both in and out of the classroom. Trudy Hall, I will miss you, but it's great to know international community, which has been a big part of the alumnae network for decades, will be discussed more frequently and encouraged liberally on campus. Miss you, ye grey walls... - Anastasia K., Class of 2011

Awesome! Nice to see some variety as opposed to just the Army and Navy football team Mannequin challenges popping up like rabbits all over the Internet. I remember Algebraic Geometry teaching me all I needed to know about finding shaded areas, angle measures, the magnitude of vectors, and the area/volume of all numbers of solids and shapes on a Cartesian plain.

I love Emma for all of these reasons, and also because it showed me that people of different classes, religions, and political views don't have to put each other down to feel better about themselves. I was bullied in middle school and took a while to open up to people, but Emma helped me regain some of my faith in humanity while I went there.

Something for everyone to learn from, men and women. Curiosity is what helps foster new discoveries and create opportunities for girls at Emma and education in the world at large.

"Emma is my life." Definitely describes me during my time at Emma. Five years out, and I still feel strongly connected to the school that is "a living, breathing creature" and a presence in the world.

They revelized me as a lady, the Chamberlain or a Bell Ringer. I ended up as a unique character for my year, Revels 2010. Since I couldn't play on a wooden flute at the time, Dr. Who, played by my friend Angelina (EWS '11, just like me), was revealed to have gifted me, Anastasia (EWS '11), a metal flute. I was the Manor House Musician, back from a soujourn abroad in the French court.

The students are not out to get you because you don't dress in the latest fashion; look rail thin; or have interests different from theirs. I also wish I had known I would stay late a lot of my high school afternoons at school anyway so I could have participated in Dr. Spiro-Allen's choir class. Those are things I wish I had known going into Emma.

My favorite is going into Philly and going to Rittenhouse Square (I miss doing that, but as a senior at BMC now, I find I often don't have the energy to go out.) On campus at Bryn Mawr? Curling up with a nice book, or else taking it to the gym and exercising, before I do something on Sat./Sun. night.

The Manor House Musician, and my flute playing, were showcased in my Revels. Wow, 4 jesters in Revels 2006, and two of them trapeze artists! I would have loved to see that.
