..Great video and demo again. The only Hi-carbon spike knives i've seen had a piece of high carbon forge welded into them. i tell folks they are Spike shaped letter openers...

..Vikings didn't need bottle openers, they had twist offs. usually when i mess one up it's because i burnt it off. i'll either make 2 prongs like you did or cut it off and make a smaller opener. Good job on re-designing...! Happy Easter to yall...

I would say I would mostly agree with the 50/50. As a beginner that isn’t relying on it being profitable, use the making of tools to help hone your skills to reduce the time it will take to make quality products to sell to customers. (Punches, chisels, using tong blanks) As your skills get better and you are selling products, start weighing time and cost more closely. At that point it’s more of a business and your customers are relying on you. If I have the steel to make a tool, I still make most of the stuff I use because the experience at this point in my journey is more valuable to me than the money I could save at this point.
