I am embarrassed to have liked the first season of this show while I was much younger...rewatching much of this show I feel even more cringey because every kid on the show, as well as that soft teacher, are so lame and impossible to take seriously I had retroactive embarrassment from over a decade back... But then I remembered Sue and Jans Lynch's perfect portrayal. It's likely the reason I watched it back then and, while some of the jokes are derivative and elementary (writings fault, not her), shes got some shockingly hilarious mean moments that healed some of the embarrassment I felt seeing these horrible "kids". She's so perfect in this role and one of the most underrated "unabashed asshole" characters...one of the, maybe THE, best comedy archetypes.
