And after this ending, we might finally get a Blood Omen remaster, with a twist. You see, the story is actually complete. After this very scene, the beginning of Blood Omen starts. But this time, the Elder Kain leaves behind a complete, purified Soul Reaver. Then, a young Kain finds it inside the Avernus cathedral. Everything else is the same, he goes on a quest to restore the Pillars. However, this time, his corruption is healed once he finds the Soul Reaver. He no longer needs to die in order to restore the Pillars. At the end of this Blood Omen, he kills the Hylden Lord, and the Balance in Nosgoth is restored. So, the final chronological order is: - Blood Omen 1, - Soul Reaver 1. As this is the timeline where Kain rejected the sacrifice, Soul Reaver is shattered when he attempts to strike Raziel with it. The Soul Reaver that Kain was holding already contained Raziel's soul (ironically, from a timeline where he was absorbed inside the Reaver against his will, at the end of Soul Reaver 2). The Reaver is purified because Raziel, unlike in Soul Reaver 2, realized and accepted his purpose. With the purified Soul Reaver in hand, Kain is free to restore the Pillars, as described in the beginning.
