My father worked at Ysterplaat airbase for many years. The dedication to quality work, ensuring reliable machines saved so many lives. And after going to school in the area I could soon tell the craft by the sound of it's engine.

I'm so disappointed. I clicked on this for a rewatch. Because I enjoyed it so much the first time I saw it a while back and now it's in a bridge version with about half the content it had before maybe even not that much. What a rip-off in the perfect example of how to ruin a perfectly good show

Awesome footage, Glen. The South African Air Force had an illustriuous history... the second longest in years of operation to the Royal Air Force. The SAAF played a valuable role in WW2, including the incredibly intricate Warsaw Airlift. They played a role in the Korean War. I remember all the aircraft in this showreel, and more. One of the proudest moments for me was when all the passengers on the sinking Oceanos were saved by SAAF helicopters. I remember too when many Mozambiquans were saved from hurricane floods by the SAAF. Sadly, these days the capabilities are a fraction of what they were. Oh well!

But what of the vegetarians / vegans who don't eat meat because of the dreadful way we / farming treats animals?
@CTLive
@CTLive 2 ай бұрын
Your view on farmed animals obviously has been learnt from social media... I recommend going onto a South African farm and see how its done or if you are abroad go see a few farms and spend a day with the farmer...NO farm animals no insects which means you and the rest of the planet will be history in 24 months or less. Vegetarians and vegans have only been around for 150 years...modern humans 300 000 to 500 000 years.

Thank you for this video. What a beautiful, amazing aircraft. When I was a serving officer in the SA Navy we exercised with Shacks often and it was my privilege to fly in them on occasion, maybe even in this very one. Seeing a Shack appearing over the horizon at sea was always a beautiful sight. I remember a flight from Ysterplaat when, shortly after take-off, I was approached by the flight engineer who asked what I would like for breakfast. I thought he had in mind something like toasties or crisps with milk, but no! The options were eggs to order, bacon, sausages, steak, toast and some other trimmings, all freshly prepared in the aircraft's galley. I remember Shacks with a great deal of fondness, I respect the people who maintain and fly them - may you be able to do so for a long time yet. God bless you all!

To do an autopsy. Its important to find out how it died. There was a whale that died off Spain an it turned out it was from white plastic sheets they use on the green houses that was dumped in the sea. It didn't look injured so maybe its something it ate.

Stop the bullshit about the Russians. They were the ones who Freed Europe with our Allies. And now, the Allies have no industry left, starts making trouble to start the new weapon industry. The narcistic new NATO commander, Dutch (ex) prime minister M.Rutte is the one who seeks trouble, see for yourself. The man wants to win, in the mean time, left his country in deep trouble with too many immigration etc. etc. And brings us, the Dutch people into a war, what we really don't want, all 18 million of us.
