Beautiful car, I buy mine before two weeks, the design is timeless. Before Brera I have Gtv 916 and Spider 916 they have been that same like the Brera now, people start to appreciate it and the price go to sky… My daily driver is Crosswagon, maybe one of the best everyday day Alfa…

the main 850 shown in this video is cleatly an N version but with the wrong moustache and wheels that actually belong to the Special. I strongly disagree that the Spanish 4 door design was better than the original 2 door design in anyway. Perhaps a little more practical but that's it. Esthetically the 2 door design is much more superior as it was the original design intend, without a consideration of a future 4 door version. On the other hand, the later 127/128 were from the begining designed with 2 and 4 door versions in mind. NOT the 128 estate familiale version later becoming the Panorama, which also had no relation with the original 128 design. But that's another topic..

Update: just learned from the comments, that this 850 shown was actually one of rare N version for the US market, hence the wrong moustache and wheels. Thugh without headrests and side markers, I would assume, this 850 was built before 1968. Could you please shed some light on the available options at the time on the 850 sedans at least. Radio+antenna, opening rear quarter lights, etc..apart from the idroconvert?
@Matteo_Licata20 күн бұрын
@@Advancedkid The 850 I filmed is the one in Turin's automobile museum and, as you've pointed out, it's not a particularly good example. But that was what I had to work with!
@Advancedkid19 күн бұрын
@@Matteo_Licata I understood that too It's a shame that the Torino Mueseo di automobili doesnt have a good example. You are nevertheless doing an excellent job. Mille grazie! *before I sign off, just remembered that Fiat/NSU/Neckar of Heilbronn Germany, produced it's own version of the 850 called the Adria, esthetically not as great as the original but seems to have extra options that Fiat Torino did not offer, like sunroof, not sure of others. I would love to geta list of the options offered by Fiat for the 850, especially the "Special". Mille grazie.

2:27 min pause , why is door handle like that on dark red gt ?
@Matteo_Licata23 күн бұрын
Because that dark red GT... Actually isn't a car! It's a styling model, and the "handle" is fake too. These are very fragile things, and that piece was probably knocked off by someone who thought it was a real handle.

I had a 1988 UK spec 2.0TS example, Great car . On test I got it up to 137 MPH , exactly what Alfa claimed. Eventually mine needed an expensive rebuild of the rear brakes so I sold it as a doner car to a guy who was restoring a Lancia Stratos. Many parts are common.

i purchased my 87 Spider in the early 90s and the first long trip was on 'The Going to the Sun Road' high in the Mountains in Glacier National Park in Montana, crossing the Continental Divide. It was spectacular and garnered conversations at every rest stop. The vehicle was so full of camping gear we could not pull the top down. No issues since, reg maintenance and summer driven only

Back in what can be now appreciated as the post Scalgione / late Gandini period, I was expected as a small boy to be very attentive in Italian museums. I'm pleased to see that these new museums offer "more diversity and modernity" and have been very nicely filled out with more recent treasures that I can analyse for greater wisdom

Lancia for many years has been the most innovative, fascinating and important brand in the automotive world. The "big" directors killed it on purpose. La Lancia è stato il brand più innovativo, fascinoso e importante del mondo dell'auto per tanti anni. I mega direttori l'hanno ammazzata volutamente.

I remember mine fondly - a used 1973 lime green color with mag wheels. It was so fun to drive, and I had a good mechanic, so it wasn't bad to maintain. I bought it from my second grade teacher's twin sister! I put a lot of miles on mine and took some nice road trips up the Eastern Sierras.

Saw all these iterations of the 33 with my own eyes at Alfa Romeo Museum in Milan just a couple months ago. Even got myself a tiny, 1:32 scale model of the final version on the way out at the gift shop. What a stunning beauty, what a glorious period in Alfa's history! I highly recommend the visit to the museum - you will easily spend 3 - 4 hours there, like I did 😊

Could have been a great car line. Its sad that the 6's styling couldnt match that of the BMW and Mercedes midrange cars, nor even the charm of the Fiat 130. And engine development didnt match the pace of those german rivals.

Would you do videos about more modern Lancias like Lybra or third gen Delta? I know people that think that Lancia ended on a rally but It isn't true for me and cars like Lybra, third gen Delta or even Musa seems to be pretty underrated.

I was never against doing videos on a specific vehicle. My choices were primarily dictated by a vehicle's availability (or lack thereof) and its owner's willingness to dedicate me a couple of hours.

I’m late to this video, but I wonder what you, as a designer, feel about the Series 3 models whose plastic bits, like the spoiler and bumpers, have been painted body color. Now that prices for Series 4 models in the US are taking off, I’m setting my sites on a Series 3.
@Matteo_Licata2 ай бұрын
In my view, painting the Series 3's bumpers and spoiler doesn't improve the car's appearance all that much. They're still way too chunky. Here in Europe at the time there was a Zender bodykit with different bumpers and spoiler that looks rather good. But still, any Spider looks magnificent compared to what goes on the roads today, so you can't go wrong!
