My VP9 was my first pistol and is still my best shooter, it fits naturally in my hand and has never malfunctioned in 3k rounds. Really like the enhancements in the VP9A1 series, especially the transfer bar and finger pads, tempted to get a VP9F in the future

I have been looking for a P2000 and P2000SK in .40 S&W for the better part of 6 months. Seems like what James said about HK phasing out the .40 is coming to fruition. Regardless, great review and extremely thorough. I would send him work and give him my money any time.

Just read up on a little bit of the history of the 433. I hope you do a deep dive on it. I didn't realize it was a less expensive alternative to the 416. When I think less expensive I don't think less quality. At least not with HK. Also if you guys sold it I'd choose it because of the folding stock makes it a good truck gun. And lighter. If you guys made it and sold it here, it would be successful. Especially at the lower price. That and if HK made a bufferless direct impingement civilian "sporting" rifle, that would also be nice. 3 position gas adjustable. Also back to the 433. Success in the civilian market in America i think would push law enforcement and government sales. At least in America.

I can definitely see this rifle used in U.S. Special Forces replacing the FN SCAR (5.56 NATO). Unfortunately, bureaucracy can be a real pain.

Out of all the things I like about my original VP9 & VP9SK there was one item that I preferred on my P30SK & my P30L. And that was the slightly extended Slide Lock/Slide Release. I thought the VP9 version was too Flush and Glock Like. Competition reloads were smoother and faster with my P30L. Looks like the new version improved that and made the Slide Lock/Release more like the P30 without being as long front to back as the P30. I know not everyone will agree with what I just said. I've read the forums where some have complained that with their high grip they were preventing the Slide from locking back on an empty mag or they were engaging it with rounds still in the mag. Because they thought the original VP9 Slide Lock/Release was too big and some even trimmed it down. I have a high grip and that was never a problem for me. But I shot and trained a bunch with the P30 series before I bought my first VP9. Anyway, looking forward to holding the guns in person along with the CC9 as soon as they show up at my LGS. Ive been an HK fan for several years but i was never a fan of the p2000. No real reason why but it just didnt do anything for me. About 8 years ago or so when there was rumors HK was discontinuing the p2000 and wanting to clear out inventory, i happened to walk in to my lgs looking for something else, they had one sitting there, brand new not a trade in for $429. Bought it on the spot and i gotta say its definitely the most slept on pistol in their line up. I pit the hk45c paddle release on and i will never get rid of that gun

I love my VP9 and my VP9sk - the finger grooves and paddle mag release are really what sold me on HK. Other pistols felt like holding a tictac box. The extended finger grip on the sk mag makes it far superior to other compact competitors.

James, Will my P2000 / USPc mags be able to fit (or barely fit) into the new VP9K? Thx!!

That was one of the best videos I've seen in awhile. And I was already shopping for the VP9 A1, Some gun shops are not displaying them yet, trying to move inventory I guess. All I need now is a factory spiff or a package deal including the optic and maybe a couple extra mags?? I would jump on that in a millisecond. Thank you for your time putting that video together.

Wow. This was unbelievably informative and enlightened me about so many things I don’t know where to start. I’ve had a VP for four years and just learned so much good stuff about my pistol in less than 45 minutes - I wish this video had been made years ago, and they should have you do the same breakdown for every model. Matter of fact, it seems like every gun mfr should have you or someone as good to do the same. Two suggestions: it’d be great if the upper on the cutaway was clear and if the lower and upper were polished enough to be as clear as glass, if that’s possible. In the absence of that, i would suggest you have a high intensity light shining into the interior when you’re pointing at slide internals. Overall, one of the best most informative gun videos on KZbin, for sure. Outstanding work. I don’t know why you had to make this video after hours though. That should definitely be priority work.
