Constant interruption is extremely difficult and other than ignoring everyone and everything around you, is impossible to avoid. The other challenge are the residents that manipulate the med pass as a psych control test telling you how to crush this one, stir this one, feed them this way, and do about another 40 things taking an abnormally long amount of time and if you say anything at all to present the situation realistically, wish you hadn't. People are in a nursing home for a reason...

The doctor that started putting a probe in Parkinson’s patients has now started using ultrasound instead. He is also using ultrasound in patients with drug addiction and now with dementia and Alzheimer’s. That is so hopeful!

I was diagnosed of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2016, my symptoms started out with severe fatigue, poor balance, numbness, double vision, heat intolerance and anxiety. I was unable to go back to work, I tried Betaseron for about 6 years. Tried every shot available, all made me sick. In May this year, I started on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Herbal formula from WWW. MADIBAHERBALCENTER .COM , the treatment worked incredibly for my MS condition. I used the Natural MS Herbal formula for a total time period of 3 months, it totally reversed my Multiple Sclerosis. I had a total decline of all symptoms including vision problems, numbness and others. Sometimes, i totally forget i ever had MS.

It's low dopamine causing dementia during the day, and then at night the body naturally slows dopamine production, causing dopamine to drop to severely low levels. Dopamine is required for normal brain function, and memory. When my Mother got dementia, I started researching to find the cause of it so it could be reversed. Her dementia was accompanied by restless leg and insomnia. After looking for what was causing these 3 things, I concluded it was a low dopamine, then I started looking at what is required for the body to make dopamine and started testing her for these things. Bingo, she was low in B1 and iron, both required for dopamine production. I started giving her benfotamine B1 300 mg morning and night along with 30 mg of heme iron daily, and the restless leg and insomnia immediately went away, and now a few weeks in, and her dementia is reversing. The low dopamine caused by the low B1 and iron was also causing her to have balance problems and incontinence. I started ordering tests online and taking her to a walk in lab in Oklahoma, because it was cheaper than going to her doctor and having him order the tests, as I was running alot of tests over several weeks. Her doctor is an intelligent guy, but he's just not trained to find the cause of the problem and treat it. He's just trained to treat the symptoms with drugs and said her dementia was not reversible. And another thing, she lost hearing in her left ear, due to the low dopamine. It all has to do with a low dopamine affecting the basal ganglia part of the brain.

I'd think that learning this effect is connected to early life trauma recovery, given that is the stream men chose to label "psychiatry" to talk softly yet firmly that they are safe, they are Loved, that you are there to help them, that you understand they might feel scared and disoriented. I offer the consideration that they're experiencing their affect of consciousness during their Babyzheimer's, which is an elongated childhood trauma response to severe abuse and accidents alike. Perhaps even creating something in both lucid and non lucid times, connecting them to you, into the moment ~ the need to feel safe is utmost important as the childhoods of the elderly, are largest cohort of early life survivors.

This is not the correct stuff to be using for wrapping legs with Edema or lymphedema. You need to be using a short stretch bandage and that was nowhere near close to 50% overlap. This was poorly done. You didn’t even do had toes like your supposed to. Glad you’re not my pt.

My dad takes 5 lots of fuersemide a day 40mg each tab , plus spirolactone. His feet are still very, very swollen and his salts have gone too low. So now they are trying Bumtenide on him, 5 tablets. Heart nurse told him to eat more salt or two bags of salted snacks a day

during my dad's life with dementia we were struggling with him because he was seeing things that were not there and accusing my mom of terrible things. We would try to reason with him so he would understand reality but he didn't. On my way home from work I was listening to a Christian psychiatrist give a caller some advice and it hit home with me. He said: We must realize that our loved ones are in THEIR reality and they don't understand OUR reality anymore. So, its up to the caregiver to understand that when dealing with the loved one we are in a new normal and stop trying to drag the loved one back into our reality. As soon as we started doing that everyone's life around the loved one became much less stressful for all involved.

Yes, music does have incredible power. My friend who suffers from Dementia came to my home for a Karaoke Party. And I played "One Day When We Were Young" (by Johann Strauss Jr.) on my Karaoke machine. Suddenly, it brought s back lots of his young memories !!!!

I am grateful that I have found this video at the start of my dementia caregiver journey. Addressing my mother's truth as if it was "the truth" is a very difficult thing for me. I need reminders that I have to live in her world now. You have so many great suggestions. Thank you so much.

Very thankful for this! Excellent presentation and very helpful. My dad was dx with VAD and AD, but didn't present like anyone else I have seen - this was great to listen to before going to a new doctor!! He has aphasia now post heat stroke, and is declining rapidly. He is still driving, using a tractor, building things, drawing, can understand most things but little he says makes sense.

There's a trend of doctors and vets as well refusing to allow you giving informed consent even going so far as to retaliate for exercising it.
