Excellent for recorders in C. In grammar school, kids have to buy cheap recorders for music class. Nobody teaches anyone what a "jam" is. Play this video, make the kid break out the recorders and watch how music happens. Also works very nice on backing tracks on C. Stones, Dylan, Piano Man, are all great on Recorder and the C Hohner. Have fun..

That's great! Thank you very much! Yes, that's why I make these backing tracks! I would be very happy if more people started making music with exactly this approach. Of course music theory and harmony are important - but at the beginning, having fun is the most important thing! Thank you very much!

😎👍 Yes, you are absolutely right! I didn't understand your comment at first, so I just googled it. I didn't know this song by Bob Dylan, but, you're right, it is also based on this 1-2m-4-1 chord progression, even occasionally embellished with a sus4. The song has a different groove, but the chord progression is exactly this 1-2m-4-1 framework. I guess there are many more songs with this simple but great chord progression. Thank you for your comment! I learned something new!

👍😎 Thank you very much and thank you for jamming! I understand your point and of course I ask myself what the "perfect" length for a backing track would be? When I play along myself, I sometimes get bored after 2 minutes - or I could go on and on and on and just can't get enough of it. For me, it's often a question of how I'm feeling on the day or my mood. I hope you continue to have fun with my tracks! All the best! PS: This chord progression will be available in two other keys. And then I'll make a backing track combining all three tracks. It will be longer!

@@reinholdtracks 😎 I appreciate your feedback. I look forward to your backing track. I used a capo on a baritone ukulele (DGBE Tuning) to achieve that moody result. Sometimes I am not fully aware of what notes or chords I am actually playing. I experiment because my theory knowledge is very limited. I hunger to learn more however it is so much to digest with just books. I have a template full of blank chord charts to plot my notes I call it! Then I go on the Journey to figure out what I have actually been playing. Also because I focus mainly each day on learning my Bass I have that element of space in my head as it all comes together too. I like to see what I discover naturally in my own creative process moments then I go looking for the existing labels. I know I do not have to re-invent the wheel however I need to create visual tools for myself to remember the patterns or at times enable my brain to make sense of it all. ❤💫

Hi Debra, just to be sure: E G# B D F# = E7/9 (D=7, F#=9) But E7/#9 consists of the notes E G# B D F##, the ninth (F#) is raised again! The F## of course corresponds to the note G. And that is why this E7#9 has such enormous tension. Have fun!

@@fredworthmn So you were "homing" on G note - interesting indeed!

👍😎 Thank you for your different perspectives! Yes, it almost seems like a question from geometry to me: which side is "up"? I see the sequence F-G-E minor-F as similar to a stable orbit around a C major planet. At the bottom on the ground is C major (or A minor!) and with each round I can "see" or "feel" the ground but without ever landing. But of course it also makes sense to see F major as "home". The Lydian scale also has something more floating about it (at least for me) in contrast to a fairly stable, "vertical", hard major scale. You could even feel at home in E minor and then stroll around in the almost mythical Phrygian scale. I think it's great that you engage with my tracks like this and share and discuss your thoughts. Thank you very much! I hope you continue to enjoy reinholdtracks and look forward to your comments!
@gorimus29 күн бұрын
@@reinholdtracks I think the analogy of hovering on C but not landing on C is a good one. I checked a few sources and one example was referred - “Stella By Starlight” by Victor Young (I heard the Miles Davis' version on YT), which apparently doesn't have the standard cadences ("going home"). Usually, I prefer a "home" (for resolutions) but occasionally colouring outside the box can also be fun.
