It is so nice to see my child's work on this shorts, although it was hard to break the news to my other child that the artwork we submitted didn't make it here or on the website. We will try again next time!

My all-time favorite book series are The Green Ember, The Wingfeather Saga, Harry Potter, Narnia, and The Lord of the Rings. It's so nice to have such a wonderful audiobook for one of my favorites!!

An excellent Truth! 105% agree. Allegory works wonderfully sometimes (The Earth's Holocaust, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, is one of my favorites), if the storyteller is careful in his craft. Though I too prefer a story for the story's sake; what we are (and hopefully, what God is) will seep into it because... well... He made it! We see the Apple and the apple is lovely and delicious because it is an apple (a Granny Smith, especially); but it is wonderful and miraculous because it was created by a powerful and wise and loving Creator! It is no longer only a food... it is an object of praise and worship. I should hope that our writing and stories are of the same sort. Thanks for all your work, Sam! You've gifted my family tremendously over the years and provided encouragement in my own work at the same time. Keep making!

I want to buy this book. We homeschool and I teach at a co-op and one of my classes are mainly boys. Would this be a good place to read it out loud. I will do this with my own family but wanted to see your thoughts on reading it in the classroom.

I like to have a book list in my arsenal. (I'm a children's librarian.) I love Michael Morpurgo books, books like Gentle Ben and Kavik the Wolf Dog, and some of Andrew Clements stories. And I often point them to S. D. Smith's works. I need to read them, I guess. I think of them as "Narnia with Rabbits", but I don't know if that's truly the case. :)

It wouldn’t make much sense unless you listen to Lander first… otherwise the Dragon cave and the sword doesn’t make as dramatic experience… hope that makes sense. This is super cool! I saw someone on a different video say that they wanted to see a Helmer prequel book and I just wanted to say that I think that that would be super super cool! Bring back Green Ember! Give us a Helmer book!
