I'll comment on the XT - I have 2 bikes with XT and love it. Feel no need to change (and have another bike with standard XO, one with XO AXS, and my ebike has XO Transmission - N+1 problems). Anyway, XT has the smoothest shifts and shifts well under load. As you said, look at the hanger and make sure your limit screws are adjusted properly (I've never pushed chain into the spokes on my XT bikes). Also, if necessary - make sure you're using XT or XTR shifter as well. Sometimes it isn't the derailleur but the shifter - not sure what shifter is on your bike but that is one component many bike manufacturers cheap out on and one of the first things I have to upgrade. Also the top portion of Ticket to Ride (south) is one of my favorite trail sections in all of Bend.

Please, please, please turn down the intro and outro music so it’s the same volume as your audio or turn up your audio to match the music. Also, for an HVAC guy I’m surprised you don’t know the difference between a bolt and a nut. That being said, I’m enjoying the series.

Really nice looking bike !! You did a great job on the 1st ride with it. Thanks for sharing. My La Sal Peak Pro arrives Christmas week here in FL. Have some Nobl TR37 carbon wheels I'm going to put on right away to play with. thanks, Mike.

Nice job !! Love you see your new Fezzari La Sal Peak too. My La Sal is coming this week. One thing is that the oil slick links you have seem to be the new flat top T type links not the old links that match that chain...not sure.

the mounting bolt for the Fin seems to be poor design. You go over the rock abd it might bend or break. I do not like this idea. Everything esle is excellent.

Yes you will get fold marks. I have had the white water Aquaglide kayak. I’ve had mine for over 12 years. No holes at all. I still have it and will be taking it to the lake soon. I have even surfed it in the ocean several times..👍🏽

Little tip on the deflation part. As you push down on the valve yon can turn it which lock it in open state. This way you don't have to keep your finger on it all the time

Purchased the 2 man version on the UK. Backpack is flimsy and straps totally inadequate compared to similar bags designed for inflatables. Manufacturing faults left exposed fabric showing through the outer coating. Took this up with Aquaglide and they didn't bother to reply! Sent the package back to their retailer - who knew of this problem! Truly disappointing since this is meant to be a premium product!

@@hawkestales The dropsitch floor in the Chelan is removable! You may not notice at first because of the snug fit, bit if you pull the edges away from the side tubes, you will be able to remove it to dry.

@@thatangularguy957 fret not, the floor is removable! Not everyone notices it at first go thanks to the fit under the side tubes when it's deflated. But yes, it is removable and we recommend doing so to dry.

Great video man - keep it up. I'm thinking of getting one of these kayaks myself, i'm a little worried about the durability however. Would love get your opinion on what you think of the durability/toughness of the material and build quality (without damaging your own kayak of course).
@hawkestales
@hawkestales 3 жыл бұрын
The material is pretty durable. I’ve dragged it out of the water on to a boat launch and taken my dog for a ride without any issues. I’m pretty happy with is so far. I’m planning on doing a year long review to see how it’s held up.

You have excellent taste in bikes my friend. I love mine, what a massive upgrade from my late 90's Gary Fisher HT. I'm surprised you didn't like the saddle, I thought the stock one was pretty awesome. Agreed on the pedals, I'm about to replace mine. But this bike punches wayyyy above it's weight class, absolutely destroys trails, climbs like a Sherpa and is easy on the wallet (and the eyes).

Thanks for the great video. I just finished assembling the same bike, size Large (18.5"). I'm 6'2". I'm also looking to add a dropper post, however I noticed that there is a slight bend in the seat tube on the bike, so the original seatpost can only be inserted 170mm into the frame. I looked up the PNW Ranier seatpost and it shows that it is 452mm total length, whereas my seatpost that came on the bike is only about 375mm. So I'm thinking that with that post, I won't be able to insert it far enough into the frame, so that when fully extended it isn't too high. I'm curious to know the size of your frame and how that worked for you. By the way, the one upgrade I did right out of box was adding the Microshift Advent X 1x10 drivetrain, which is awesome. If you do any other upgrades that might be one to look at.
@hawkestales
@hawkestales 3 жыл бұрын
I’m using the same 18.5 frame as you. The dropper post will not go in all the way as you said. I’m 6’. I actually had to raise it a bit to get good pedaling efficiency. And it drops out of the way fine. I’m also looking to upgrade the drive train. I saw a 1x12 on this frame.
