5:53 - It is not a "sick book" but rather a part of history. Back in Victornian times, it was quite common to have post mortem photographs of your dead loved ones. Since medical interventions were still primitive, death rates were much higher, especially for young children, with no cures for common illnesses & diseases unlike the vaccines/treatments we have now. Back then, photography was also in it's infancy. So having photos taken was very expensive & time consuming. "Memento Mori" was a popular method of commemorating your deceased child, mother, father, sibling.... For many people, it was the only chance to have a "family protrait" together before the funeral & burial/cremation. "Memento Mori" is a part of every culture, not just with photos but also portraits in paintings, facial images minted on coins or printed on paper money, their resemblence made into a statue, etc. Think about the modern currency of the world, with images of dead presidents, kings or queens, military leaders, & so on... "Memento Mori" is Latin for "remember you will die" and it means to appreciate life while you have it. The photos are not only a rememberance of the dead, but also a reminder to enjoy life with the time you have left on Earth. There is nothing "sick or gross" about that. Actually it is quite the contrary when you think about it...

I think you totally got it. We are learning about how evil and ruthless the Peacekeepers are. Aeryn has a bit of the attitude when she says these aren't Sebaceans, they are 'working class' or something like that. She has absorbed that elitist attitude of the Peacekeepers growing up. Maybe she'll eventually grow out of it.

The great thing about Farscape is that aliens can be really alien. Different sizes, different anatomy, different thinking.

This is a fun episode. I love that in contrast to her serene outward appearance and demeanor, we get to see Zhaan’s physical strength and martial skill. Zhaan is such a great character. She’s exceptionally mentally and spiritually disciplined, but she can kick ass when she needs to. These early episodes reveal little tidbits about each characters’ biological and cultural characteristics. The joy of Farscape is that it remembers these details, and they tend to pay off later on.

Season 1 starts off a little slow but is still good, with a couple of outstanding episodes. The later half of Season 1 is when the show really takes off though!

I was the same as you! I saw “Cube” on shelves when I was young, probably way too young to watch it but it never interested me or my parents back then. I only stumbled across it again a few years back, I was in a bit of a horror movie binge as I hardly watched any. Now this is one of my favourites, sure it’s cheesy but it’s great!

Farscape is a slowburn scifi adventure from the late 90s. It's very D&D party, but in space!!!! They really carved out a niche for the space villains before Firefly.

slow burn that in we had to wait weekly? if you join the marathon of about 4 days live streaming 24/7 on and off, you may realized all the character building and all the tropes were covered in 4 seasons hahaha

There were couple episodes that were rearranged by the broadcasters, both in the US and the UK - and neither was in the intended order by the producers.

Hands down, one of the best endings in a movie. A movie is successful if it makes you feel a strong emotion. I love it... It's so dull to always have there be happy endings. Real life is cruel and there is no justice, so I feel like this ending is realistic. So amazing.

Farscape is one of the sci-fi Channel original series. The sci-fi Channel didn't want a kid's show with Henson creatures. They wanted adult themed and very weird. I like the show from the beginning. During the end of season one, u begin to love it. Farscape is one of my favorite sci-fi shows.

The end of a drainage pipe at the ocean is about the nastiest patch of ocean you'll find. Every reactor I've seen seems to miss that part. Bobbi's reaction to first seeing the ocean is especially profound because Earthers would look at her patch of ocean with disgust.
@dumy187Ай бұрын
Bobbi is a zealous marine. It's normal military programming. You tell her to point and shoot at an Earther, and she'll eagerly do it. Tell her to point and shoot at a Martian, and she's open to defying that order.

One of the shows that inspired Farscape was a british sci-fi show called Blake's 7. Particularly, it was a show about escaped prisoners on a ship being chased... and the Peacekeepers from Farscape are based on the Terran Federation from Blake's 7.
