Bought a '53 Dodge Regent four door about a month ago ... 230-6 cyl., three speed manual ... Runs and drives, but I think it could use a valves adjustment ... Anyway, best regards ... 👍 ...

must be nice to have industrial sized equipment. The average joe in his 2-car garage most likely doesn't have the room nor the $$$$ to afford such tooling. Thus this is why you probably won't get the views that guys with more imagination than deep pockets will get.

It's even worse on a B, just did mine. My trick to suck the window down to line up the holes is using ratcheted hold down straps on either side. I had to modify them slightly to fit under the wing where the L anchor point is, but it's doable. Soloed the entire installation and no breakage so far. You ratchet one side, then the other each time to equalize the pressure and tighten the middle bracket as well. I used a spatula to push the lip out from the rest of the rubber seal, but you can also put a string inside that seal and pull the string out to do the same thing. Might be harder to do on a Midget. P.S. Use the packing on both sides that Moss sells, mine was missing the fiber packing next to the spacer and it cracked the last windshield I installed. *The packing is required!*

Do you need a puller to get those axles out of the housing??
@scratchinforstackz28633 ай бұрын
To answer my own question: no you do not. Remove able plate retaining bolts and the axle should come free by hand, pull towards you.

What happened? I was all excited to watch your progress on the 1966 Fairlane convertible because I'm currently restoring one too. It's a '66 GT convertible. I'm looking forward to your updates and encouraging progress. Please don't tell me you've given up or other circumstances have gotten in the way of your project😟!

I don't believe the '31 Crysler's had the 2 horns under the headlights. Did you use '32 headlight bars or fabricate the horn mounts? I fab'd mine.

Packard didn't "revolutionize air conditioning in cars". Revolutionize means to change something drastically. Other makes didn't have it at all the time. Packard pioneered it. Chrysler was also experimenting with air in cars in 1938. -39. There's a Chrysler car in a museum that was a test car for ac. After the Packard it kind of went into limbo again due to cost and practicality. According to the book "Boy,That air feels good!" By Rod Barclay,which is all about air conditioning in vehicles,it wasn't until the aftermarket air conditioning market appeared on the scene and became increasingly lucrative that the automakers realized they needed to start offering it as an option on all their cars. By the time you get into the mid 60's the amount of Chrysler vehicles,including the economy Dart that came with factory are is amazing. I seems that I see more 67-69 Darts with air than not,at least in California. I have a 57 Plymouth with factory in dash air,(yes,Chrysler had the system with periscope vents that were in the dash that far back) and I have to say that all their ac equipped cars will freeze you! The took pride in their airtemp division.

My step dad had a Chrsler dealership in Holland Michigan from 1952 until 1961. He had a 1957 Dodge Pickup like you are working on, actually the same green color. The truck had a V8 engine, kind of over powered for the truck. The truck was very light and I was always screeching the tires accidently. The truck was terrible in the winter time due to the light rear end weight. We would have to run tire chains to be able to get any where. The pick up had white parking lights in the front not amber. Amber did not come out until 1963. It was a nice little truck how ever, we used it for service calls, jumpstarts and customer tire changes due to my step dad being a AAA road service company. The business was Haan Motor Sales 25 west 9th Street Holland, Michigan. I enjoyed watching you guys working on the truck. I am old and I hope my balls don't smell like the insulation in that truck, just a thought.

Wonderful job. I've seen very few restorations that had the stainless from around the windows polished. This must have been a beautiful car when done. BTW. My first Lincoln, in 1975 was a sedan in Polynesian Gold like this one. It had the old metallic enamel from the factory still. Polish for days and in a week or so it would be oxidized again.

Any of you who are running drum brake ford cars and trucks install the relatively cheap bolt on front disk brakes and dual circuit master cylinders, more important than putting gas in the tank, increases car value and far better/safer to drive.

Fixing to do the same dah pad swap. What glue did you folks use? Also, could you have used the glue on the backside of the pad instead of the metal frame to help with an "accident" of getting the glue on the face of the pad? Thanks, Jim
