Looked her up on Wikipedia on her considerable supporting actress appearances on tv series like 77 Sunset Strip, Have Gun-Will Travel. To check it out I first watched an episode of Bonanza titled"The Deserter." She was a good actress!!

Her singing We'll sing in the sunshine got my attention in the mid 60's and maybe got me listening to other types of music besides just the Beatles and the British groups. She was and is pretty too.

I had a hippy girlfriend in college. We were together for almost a year before she was killed in a store robbery. She was anti-war and so beautiful and smart. We sang in the sunshine.

Gale is one of my earliest childhood memories, when my mom would put on the radio and we would hear Gale, Nat King Cole, Skeeter Davis, George Hamilton IV, etc. right before the rock and heavy metal came along. Things seemed more relaxed in those days, less uptight and urgent. People run around so much today, you wonder if anyone stops to smell the roses.

Very good and useful video! I find it often very illuminating to hear from the author of a book what was his/her "big idea", the idea that inspired the book. As Wootton says here, this is a big book - 600 pages + a lot of endnotes and extensive bibliography - but also big books usually have one or a few simple ideas behind them, and that is what Wootton describes here: He realised that the concept of "a fact" and the concept of "discovery" were new concepts in the late 1600s, and that they lead to the scientific revolution.

I watch many YT videos about fighters, including Arrow, and see that claim repeated often - the Arrow was the best, the US was jealous and told Canada...something. The problem is that I can't find any sign that the US told or "asked" Canada not to build Arrow, which would have been weird since the US supplied engines to power the 1st Arrow, and would have had a lock on supplying engines if Canada didn't develop its own engine; The US also supplied a B-47 to test out that potential competitor. The US was going to supply missiles and fire control hardware, so it had more of a vested interest in Arrow's success than Canada did, and unlike Canada, the US didn't have to pay to develop the plane. The US supplied wintunnel and telemetry equipment, and training for Canadian pilots. ...but someghow the US was sabotaging Arrow because they were jealous about it being the best. Only it wasn;t the best. It couldn't reach mach 2, which was important back then. By the time that Arrow had flown, mach 2 fighters had already flown in the US, USSR, France, UK and Sweden, planes that carried better missiles or flew further. And the US was jealous for what reasons?
