Yes. You always want it at the bottom. We only put at the top so people could see each everything clearly throughout the tutorial. They were old grips just used for the vid.

One question for put all back like factory is easy work ?
@ChampionCycleАй бұрын
Yes sir. Keep all your stock parts. It'll take 2 hours to completely put it back to stock. Even less if you simply shorten the chain and re route the brake line

i notice you used a copper crush sleeve over the internal throttle cable. my copper sleeve was ruined because i had to take things back apart about 10 times. i saw another youtube video where a custom chopper guy did not use a copper crush sleeve and just tightened the set screw down on the cable, so that's what i did. but i'm not sure that was the best idea. what do you think?
@ChampionCycleАй бұрын
Copper always works for us. Has yet to fail.
@dumbcatАй бұрын
@@ChampionCycle i just asked ChatGPT 4o. it said i might not have a problem for a while, but eventually the steel on steel contact could fray and break some or all of the individual strands of the internal throttle cable, and/or possibly cause a rusting issue. it said one of the purposes of a cooper crush sleeve is the distribute pressure from the set screw more evenly, so the wire strands are not damaged. it also said steel on steel contact can produce slippage and the copper sleeve can prevent slippage.
@dumbcat2 ай бұрын
i'm doing an internal throttle now, and it seems like before cutting the cable the handlebars should be turned hard to the left. this is to ensure you gave yourself enough slack, so as not to snap the cable out of its fittings if the rider cranks the handlebars hard left. that will probably only happen while parked and locking the steering column but it could still leave the rider stranded.

I’m thinking of buying a bike with 3” stretch. My only concern living in FL is u-turns and speed bumps. Can I do a normal uturn and with bike 2” above ground level, is that gonna be a concern with speed bumps? Is there less need for rear brake with a stretched bike?
@ChampionCycle3 ай бұрын
2" above ground is like riding/driving any lowered vehicle. But a 3" stretch is almost nothing. You'll likely barely even feel the difference.. I've personally taken a zx14 with a 6" stretch down to Tennessee and ripped the mountains scraping the belly fairings left and right with no problems. Moral of the story 3" is nothing you'll be cool

Are there any negatives to these? I imagine they don't work well at low speed, but then again I imagine they're not needed at low speed

I love your enthusiasm talking about this Chinese bike - but the reality is very far from being so good , it's true about the costless parts , but the quality of parts and engine pieces can't cost much more as there are done with low material quality. I never seen a complete Gearbox / transmission spare kit at that prize ( 60 Euros - including Camshaft ) . But I agree that the Bike is doing its job , you can have a lot of fun riding this small Chinese bike at a good price . but again don't expect quality. other good options , even better m are Bucci or RMU if you want to have fun

Hey brothers. Does this throttle application allow 100% range of throttle? Just had a Kustom Tech Internal Throttle done on my Night Rod Special with 16” t-bars and the shop that installed it here in Sweden said that the throttle body is normal to only open up about 70% with this setup. Seems pretty fckd up to me. When I asked them about it they said ”Well how often do you really go full throttle? We never” while I was thinking to myself that I go full throttle almost every ride… Would be extremely thankful for any help or advice on potential tweaks. Cheers guys
@ChampionCycle6 ай бұрын
Yes. The throttle blade total opening is dependant on where the cable is cut/set etc. So yes. You should have 100% range of throttle.
