Is it a 2 spring model? Case Stockamn 47 unfortunately uses 3 springs. I don;t like Bear&Son bone, their wood covers are much better.

Nice to see some natural material covers on a Rough Ryder Reserve at last. If you want it to have a more interesting name, there's nothing to stop you calling it whatever you like. I wouldn't describe D2 as 'budget steel' in any company! And it's officially classified as a carbon steel, as its carbon content is relatively high and its chromium content not quite as high as true stainless steels. It will patina - just more slowly than 1095. Agreed about that jigging though - soulless. Love that #23 of yours...

Congratulations, nice accomplishment, great truck,have seen several reviews on the Falkens,off the top of my head a tow strap and a medium sized folding saw,pkg of ratchet straps,drive the wheels off that thing,maybe a set of black steel wheels there cheap and look great

Congrats!! The 2.7 is a good motor. I have a 2000 Tacoma with the 2.7 and its comin up on 340,000 miles and its still runnin strong!!! Change the oil regularly!!!!

I’ve got that exact same Utica set. I stumbled across it, and a couple of similar knives, when I was looking for a Case Hammerhead “Changer” knife. My sets have advertising on the case; obviously promotional giveaways, so the manufacturer was probably trying to stay at a lower cost point.

I’ve got an identical kit with a Imperial 46-56 tang stamp. It has a sheepsfoot blade and cracked ice covers. It was cool to see a Utica one,thanks for sharing it with us.

The shotty quality and rising prices kinda keep me away from case these days, my last rough ryder was made better than my last case which was pretty sad(RR tortoise trapper vs case Copperlock). So im kinda iffy on case these day even tho i have a handful of their knives already.

Sand all the sharp edges smooth (wood and steel), cover the wood in super glue and polish it back smooth and glossy. The best Barlow work knife and will last as long as you do.

I got some ca 2016 when they would be in stock for weeks and months, some sat on shelves for longer. It’s crazy now, absolutely nothing. Will they ever expand? Maybe try to keep constant shipments of particular patterns?

I’d have to disagree on one thing. Jack Wolf currently has the best traditional style knives on the market. Chinese or not… it’s just the truth. Case is a total mess lol.

We should organize a petition to Case to improve their quality control. Imagine not having to worry about getting a shitty knife from Case every time you order one? At this point it sounds like too much to ask lol. You get a good one out of every ten knives. It’s wild as hell.
