The project in github doesn't seem to have the code from this video in it. I downloaded the project and opened it in STMCubeIDE, but all I see is boilerplate code. Did you submit the actual code? (No judgements, I've done it *many* times). Also, please don't zip the source files before you submit. Zip files can't be diff'd for changes. :(

The round ball-ways sure don't help rigidity and surface finish. Time for an upgrade to Linear Guide Ways as well.

yes indeed, I use DMM servo motors system and can tell there is a significant increase in performance compared to stepper and even many other servo motors system. Too bad getting DMM products from Canada into Europe is a big barrier. (considering the related taxes).

were their stepper motors representative of what's normally used in a cnc machine at a similar price point? if so, why aren't servo motors used in all cnc machines?
@dmmtechnologycorp2 ай бұрын
AC Servo motors are generally more expensive than stepper motor solutions. But AC servo motors offer much higher performance advantages that over time, will offset the higher initial cost. Almost all industrial CNC machines uses AC servo motors for this or similar reasons.

Are these motors enough to cnc a bridgeport mill?
@dmmtechnologycorp2 жыл бұрын
Hello, for a Bridgeport mill, we usually recommend using a 750W or 1.0kW motor direct drive on 5mm or 10mm pitch ball screws. Please contact our engineering team at [email protected] and they can assist you directly.

i think it will be good if servo drive send back 1 or 0 on completing its motion , giving 1 sec and assuming that it completed motion is not idea
@dmmtechnologycorp4 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your comment. This demo was intended to be very simple so we just wait/assume until the motion is finished. The servo drive has a Drive_Status byte with 2 bits that you can query/monitor to see if the positioning is completed. Thank you!!

@@dmmtechnologycorp good to hear. do you have some c++ library or c # library to control drive from c++/dot net apps.
