Math, Basic programming concept like breaking things down and solve things in smaller bits, and more math. Divide and Conquer. Get that brain moving before the semester starts.

Hi, can i ask what r ur thoughts on ppl saying that the ntu cs is outdated and that the profs cant teach? What r the pros and cons of the course in ur opinion?

After finishing Year2, i can say that Year 1 and 2 modules are mostly basic knowledge, there's no outdated things on the foundation u learn in 1st year, like Intro to Programming where u learn how to code, Maths, Linear Algebra and DataStructure&Algo. If there are any module that could possibly be outdated it would be those hardware related mods (might be wrong idk) As for prof that can't teach.... yes they exist, and its quite a handful... sadly NTU is more focus on research rather than the student itself :( . We see profs that are very good in their own field of research, but is unable to teach well. When they talk, it feels like they are looking down on you (just the tone of speech) or just expect you to know everything (like maths "You should have learnt this back in highschool" kind of feeling). But either ways, you should take advantage of it and keep asking question.

Hi! This video is really helpful! Can I ask if the shared toilet doors are able to be locked (i.e. key and button) from both sides? I'm worried that if I get this configuration the stranger from the other room can enter my room when I'm occupied in the shower/toilet. Thanks!

For hall 1 and 2, the toilet is shared with ur neighbor. You can lock from your end, and no one can enter your room from the toilet. Lets say your room mate is showering, and u lock the door from your room, there is no way to get out 😂

@@iLowLifeHi thanks for your reply! I am more concerned over if I was in the toilet, then the stranger from the other room could enter my room since I cant lock myself out right 😅 also, hows the ventilation since there is no aircon? is the fan alone sufficient or should we bring our own fans?
