I was wondering if the book is outdated. It was written for Linux version 2.6.x series, is it valid to read this book today?
@YourAvgDevКүн бұрын
I would say that some of it is relevant still for the theory behind OS. AFAIK, modern Linux kernels are indeed based off 2.6 anyway -- so I'd say it's relevant even if it is for acquiring a starting foundation.

Hey, 3rd vid and 19th vid are missing in the series. Will I be fine if I skip them if I start your playlist?

I've pretty much just come across this series and I like it so far. Could you please order the videos in order in the youtube playlist though? Looks like they are just in a random order

Thanks for video. My neovim only on local and I have vim on local and server. Cause server dont support neovim. But for developing, I still use neovim.

cool lesson and interesting channel. keep it going.
@nonwibb8 күн бұрын
yeah i stopped using neovim too. but im using entirely unconfigured vim rn like a freak because im in nixos and im still figuring out the best way to manage vim there lol. relative line numbers are otherwise a must for me
@YourAvgDev7 күн бұрын
Totally agree on the relative line numbers! I really like nvim, but I just want to live a simpler life these days, haha.

I have just started to learn systems programming. This is the first video i watched where I actually understood what's going on. I have a goal for next year and Systems programming and understanding the kernel is very important to achieve that goal. Thank you, I will start from the beginning.

I just found out about this channel. What youre doing is really cool!! Ive wanted to learn about how linux/a computer works in detail for a loong time but reading an entire book about this seems too daunting. This is 100x better than reading an old book. And the explanations you give are really intuitive. Thanks again and please dont stop this series!

Thank you! These are really motivating words for me! I won't stop the series and plan to read every page word for word. :) I am glad you are finding it to be helpful!
