First broadcast in the UK in 1969 but irregular air times jinxed its success, as did it's bombing in the US where it was re-titled 'My Partner The Ghost'. The series has since attained cult status.

Funnily enough the path that goes round the Lake is the most used, busiest pavement in Llandrindod. However it was decided to narrow the MAIN Road to provide a wide path there. So it’s difficult to pass if a lorry is coming the other way and two lorries is even worse. The new path is meant to be for active walking & cycling but you rarely see anyone on it. Also we now have 20mph limit on this Road. Everyone is disgruntles with this daft idea. The Road round the Lake is full of broken tarmac and the path is narrow!
@WelshRob1964

I seem to recall the lake being made one way and the path widened into the road during covid. I thought it was a good idea and glad they kept it. I hate the Welsh sennedd and Drakefords 20 mph limit, a man who does not drive! It was a factor in my leaving Wales. In some places I can see the 20 mph need but so many it is ridiculous.
@MariTeabag-lf1ly

@ Yes I remember when it all changed because of Covid & we weren’t even supposed to breathe on each other. It is a lovely walk up there & the Boathouse has added so much with many events and lovely coffee & cakes. I think the stupid 20mph was OK for a place like Cardiff but not in mid Wales. You have to keep constantly braking to keep a steady 20 because of the hills & bends! I have no idea how Drakeford govmt decided it was a good idea. I’m trying to train myself out of grumbling & getting annoyed every time I go out. The latest annoyance is that when I turn into my road, which was a nice curve in, it has now turned into a sharp right angle. I now have to stop immediately for the ‘Path / Bike’ road markings. This means I have left my rear end on the main road & have to screw my neck right round to see if anyone is on the festering path . . .they never are. I saw an ASDA lorry turning in & he was half in & out of the turning before he had to stop. Someone screeched to a halt behind him on the main road. Oh dear, I’m doing it again.

@@MariTeabag-lf1ly You sound like me 😄 Power went to Drakeford's head after covid, he was a nasty little man and Wales best rid of him. 20 mph in some areas makes sense has been around for years, outside schools, hospitals and some high streets but as a general rule I think it is poorly thought out rule. As for Darkeford saying he was told by the people it was a good idea, a few thousand at most, the petition online shows more don't want it. The sennedd has ruined Wales in my opinion and I am sure I am not the only one who can't stand to live there anymore. You got me going now! 🤣🤣🤣

@@WelshRob1964 Sorry if I got your adrenaline going too, it’s a nightmare. I have discovered if you go round the back of Tesco, past the ATS garage and on towards Crossgates, it’s still 30mph round there. This avoids the l o n g drag past the hospital - all 20mph. 😱

Interestingly, well, to me it is, ‘uncle’ is a word George V Higgins used in his Boston-set crime novels (‘The Friends of Eddie Coyle’ is a minor masterpiece) as code for the police in conversations between gangsters and detectives about tip-offs etc. “Hey, I been good to uncle, haven’t I?” “Sure, Eddie, but ya gotta keep comin’ through, uncle needs more’n a call ‘bout a robbery already happened.”
