Hey man, just curious on if I was to get a new carb or try to get one which carb do I need to look for in a way bc I’m unable to find one like mine by looking up year and model. My throttle cable is on left and air fuel mixture and such is in the right and side? Most I’m seeing it’s kinda switched

Hey man, so I got an issue I’m having and I’m not sure if it may be the igniter box but if I prove power to my pump the bike will turn over and run if I prove power to my igniter then switch and the pump will run I’m unsure of what’s causing it not to get power? Sorry to be a hassle

@CameronRemillard you check the fues? And if not the fues trace the wires, you're giving it power with a tester?

@@hondagarage I checked the one fuse on the stator I suppose it’s good, but if I take my power prob and give 12v power to my wire on the fuel pump which would be the black 12v wire on the original harness and it works like it should, as well as giving the igniter box power it also works like it should. But the only fuse I know of is the stator next to the battery

@ okay, and my concern was with nothing on it the start switch won’t work idk if it’s all connected into a relay or not but it won’t turn over with the switch unless I give it pisd

@ to my opinion as a auto tech it has for a while, I plan to take the carb off tomorrow and give the jets a good clean make sure the flow is good to the bowl and all but it has good spark and I’ve put new plugs in there, I know something may be off with the fuel for how much I’ve tried to start it and the plugs to be dry unless it’s just burning it that well.

@ I have the same set up but for some reason my throttle cable is a few inches short. Are you using the stock throttle cable or did you use a different cable? If so, can you share which one you used?

I cleaned the carbs as you did in the last video, hooked up a water bottle reservoir to the fuel line for both carbs, only the gas just runs right through the carb and comes out a hose by the radiator. Any idea what the issue is? this is my first bike with a carb and it hasn't been started in years. Thanks

@colbyprince9409 I would check your float needles. Sometimes, they can be me bad, and the gas will just run into the engine. I had the same issue with my bike. The gas was in the oil

@@hondagarage I read it was something to do with the float, took it back out, and realized I forgot to put the freaking float pin in the carb that was leaking. Got it all back in and functioning now lol. had to take a spark plug out to shoot all the fuel out of the cylinder. going to change oil

@hgarza1136 Thanks, I appreciate it. The only issue with the single carb was that the jets needed to be upgraded to a bigger size and a carb tune.

Hey Bro good work vlx 600 VT is exactly what I have but the other people who had it before me screwed the wiring up IT runs when IT WANTS TO ??? So from the looks of the wiring that they hacked up I'm just gonna cut it out and start over ?? Gattis Garage said if you want To minimalize the wiring like A chopper 7 different color wires is what You need. ?? He said about the best is Boat wire. ?? 7 Gauge is the best is what he said ?? My problem now is they Lost the title and I've trashed it enough to say if nothing else it's NEVER been tilted anywhere around here ESPECIALLY In W. Va. Where I live SO I was hoping you'd have A VT. 600 Frame with A title that I can buy ??? There was A lady that didn't live to far away from me ?? But now I can't get ahold of her ??? I put a universal car switch with the start gear, and it works great, I just made a housing with a piece of tube to put in its original place, obviously you can put it anywhere else. My diagram turned out almost like yours

@rhynoguillen4346 No, I just bought a single carb from an older vlx600 and tuned it. I did buy a bigger jet but haven't installed it yet. You're always gonna have one cylinder leaner than the other with a single carb
