The all-male ballet sequence in the Second Act is stunning. Easily, the best Triumphal Scene ballet I've ever seen. Too bad the video is of such poor quality.

Good lord, what a magical vocal ensemble. It's incredible what they achieve harmonically as well as rhythmically. Astonishing, artistry. And that band... none better in the Universe.

Nach Frenis Nil Arie (und ich hab sehr wohl die Price im Ohr) hätte das Haus unter einem Beifallssorkan einstürzen müssen. Hingegen etwas längerer Anstandsapplaus und 3 (!) Bravorufe. Domingo jedoch wird nach "Celeste Aida" endlos gefeiert, obwohl er den Spitzenton äußerst kurz und ohne Abphrasierung hinausplerrt, wo Verdi zwingend ein Dimendiendo vorschreibt. Wie so oft erkennt das Publikum die wahre Spitzenleistung nicht. Schade! Dass ein Großteil der Kommentare nur Domingos kesses Röckchen betrifft ist ebenso banal wie erschreckend!

If you are a fan of the New York Voices, you have to check this one out. This performance is truly remarkable. It reinforces the notion of just how incredible human capability is. It just doesn't get any better. As a musical and performing artist, this fills me with such joy and awe! God bless the New York Voices and the Metropole Orchestra.

Обожаю Дойтеком, однако Амелия требует очень масштабного и сочного нижнего регистра, которым певица с голосом, устремленным вверх, всё же не обладает. Тенор с хорошим тембром, но партия Ричарда крепковата для него, а в дуэте ему надо звучать ярко и мощно.
