When still a pre-teen, I saw the 2 matches between Carmen Basilio and Sugar Ray Robinson in 57 and the bloody 58 rematch. My father gave me a round by round broadcast. It was pointed out to me Robinson's footwork which kept him out of trouble for the most part. Still Basilio gave him many hard shots. I was told to be aware of Robinson's powerful counter-punching abilities. This match amazingly displayed the counter- punching ability. These two giants if boxing gave us a grand exhibition of their capabilities. Very entertaining.

Rocky Marchiano would NEVER clutch in a fight, as not only did he absolutely HATE to clutch in a fight, but that his primary tactic was also to be an aggressively offensive minded boxer in a boxing match. 2. Marchiano would also actively DESTROY a boxer if they ever tried to clutch him. 3. Marchiano would unleash an unstoppable barrage of punches if he needed to, thus making the boxing match look like a real life Dragon Ball fight, and, for a person like Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr., who generally avoided punches, rather than actively have tactics against said punches, well, that would be the Achilles' heel on Mayweather Jr.'s plans to win the fight, thus the way that Marchiano would respond against Mayweather Jr.'s boxing plan in the boxing match would ABSOLUTELY destroy Mayweather Jr.'s plans for an attack on Marchiano. 4. Marchiano had a variety of hits that he could use to knock out a person, as well as used the right opportunity to attack an opponent, in all of the fights in his career, whereas Mayweather Jr. merely did the latter thing in his fights over his career. Now, this is not to say that this is not a bad idea, as Mayweather Jr. did make good use of those sorts of tactics in his career, but Marchiano was simply deeper than the general boxing fan populace realized, even though he was not flashy or had any real sense of style or patterns in the ring, and that he was also essentially a street brawler with boxing gloves on his hands. The harsh truth is that you simply DO NOT fight against someone like Marchiano with a one-dimensional game, and hope for the best, because Marchiano would know that was your game plan and he would absolutely destroy anyone that tried to pull those kinds of stunts with him and, also unfortunately for everyone else, no one had, let alone could form, an active plan to neutralize Marchiano's ability to counteract those one-dimensional kinds of plans against him, thus he always won his fights in his career. 5. Marchiano was infinitely more aggressive in real life than he was in this video game, and Mayweather Jr. would have been forced to go the Charles Ezzard route, and we all know how well THAT went for him, and what happened to him would have happened to Mayweather Jr. as well. 6. Marchiano would always neutralize the boxers that had height advantages over him. 7. Marchiano would always neutralize the boxers that had reach advantages over him. 8. Now, while it is impressive that Mayweather Jr. was able to succeed in multiple weight classes, Marchiano only stayed at one weight class for his whole career, so, while, on paper, those things would seem to be more impressive with Mayweather Jr., the bitter reality is that things are actually more in favor of Marchiano because he simply has both the superior experience with, as well as the better knowledge of, the heavyweight class in comparison to Mayweather Jr., and if you disagree with that statement, then please considers the facts that, along with having 50 fights that were won for Mayweather Jr. versus 49 fights that were won for Marchiano, Mayweather Jr. only had 27 KO's with 50 fights, whereas Marchiano had 43 KO's for 49 fights. Marchiano also would have done all of the previous things that I said and he would have also added in that permanent state of sheer determination to win to wear down, as well as eventually beat, Mayweather Jr. in the fight, most likely with a KO, as he STILL has one of the highest KO percentages of ANY professional boxer of ANY weight class, as well as in ANY era, which makes him even MORE dangerous to Mayweather Jr. in the fight. 9. Marchiano has higher levels of stamina than what this video game claims, and the people that made this video game either just simply did not, and/or would not, do their proper historical research on the matter. I thought this match would go to the 10th maybe 11th owing to Buster's jab which I didn't see displayed as much tonight. I felt Bow was as tough a scrapper as there ever was with good defense not be in much on display tonight. Still, I enjoyed this match.
