Ciprofloxacin is a commonly used broad-spectrum antibiotic in cell culture that can be replaced with gentamycin or tobramycin. DMSO is the preferred solvent for dissolving amphotericin B in cell culture applications. It has a high capacity to solubilize the compound. Amphotericin B has very low solubility in water. Using water can lead to aggregation and precipitation, making it unsuitable for cell culture experiments.

Great video. I just have on comment on negative controls. What you've meant is a no-template control. A negative control contains DNA that is the "wrong" template for your primers, for example from a different species, that doesn't contain that target gene region.

I'm reading a paper right now and he mentioned using a "plate-hole diffusion" assay to test his extract against a number of gram positive bacteria, I cant find anywhere that mentions an assay technique by that name though.. Ima just pretend he used this exact technique and call it a day bc im tired of scrolling through google nvm i just remembered i can put quotation marks in google search and only show results with exactly what i search for, we chillin now

Improper media preparation, degraded components over time, or even chemicals leaching from cultureware can all disrupt cell behavior. This can lead to misleading results in experiments, where the cells are stressed or not functioning normally.
