Wow, this is great! Really well executed. Was looking for BH songs produced from his rough recordings. Do any more besides this one?

I’m familiar with 2 other versions the 1st one was recorded in New York, City when Buddy’s wife released the Apartment Tapes. The 2nd version was overdubbed at Norman Petty’s studio in Clovis, New Mexico. In the overdubbed process Petty used The Fireballs to provide the music 🎼 and they did a very awesome 👏 job. This 3rd version does sound great as well. I’m familiar with the 1st versions because in 1979 I had the box set entitled The Complete Buddy Holly. It had a 120 songs including the Apartment Tapes with only Buddy and his guitar 🎸. The overdubbed versions were also included. That box set included 6 LPs. I have a feeling that those tapes might produce newer versions in the future.

I know these versions too, the Fireballs version is pretty cool! I only found out that those exist after putting this online though :D

Sorry can't choose,,, grandiose and to think that you played the drum later than the original, superb as if it was always meant to be this way

As a drummer since 1970, and as the consummate lover of eclectic music, I must say you are an arteest! I am tired of the ubiquitous "advanced drumming", and fully expected the skins to be overplayed...in the foreground. What a pleasant surprise to hear what anyone would think was a totally original recording -- drums and all. You should have a thousand and nine thumbs-up and 91 compliments. New subscriber!

PS What I mean by advanced drumming are the chops by guys like Anton Fig, Gavin Harrison and others. Of course these guys are great, but -- well, nevermind. I feel an essay coming on and would rather "put a sock in it", lol.
