I am little late but really enjoyed your tying method. Have you ever used wig hair for the kinky fiber. Can not wait to fish this for smallmouth.

Before I fly fished, we used to chase chickens in the eighties in the villages on the coast of Michoacan for their feathers for buck-tails and tie them around big hooks or a plastic tube sliding on a single strand steel leader. We would talk the fishermen with boats on the beach in the little villages to take us out for pay, so we could troll. At first they thought we were nuts because the only kind of fishing they did was hand line off the side for Huachinango (Red Snapper) or Robalo. When we started hooking up Dorado, roosters and bill fish they freaked out. These were small Pacific coast villages and they had never been exposed to real pelagic fishing like in the large coastal towns of Puerto Vallarta or Zihuatanejo. This fly would kill in those schools of Dorado. Thanks for the lesson, a version of this is going to be in my box from now on.

Great job! Looks great! Very good video! What weight fly rod would you need to fish the one you tied with? What would be the smallest hook you could use to tie this on? Thanks for making this video! Ernie

I honestly cant believe that this video you uploaded has only had 2290 hits. Jonny's kinky muddler pattern has to be the only way one should construct a baitfish pattern for so many species of fish we target!!! Thanks for uploading it
