Wow, what a unique hammer and crane, friend, this kind of hammer is very accurate for driving pipes of this size, really top notch, good luck and don't forget to take a break for a coffee, friend.

What is the shape of the end of the pile?
@MegaIronleg3 ай бұрын
FOR PIPE PILE ITS A TWO INCH FLAT PLATE, WELDED ON. FOR H-BEAM ITS A HARD CAST POINTED WEDGE, WELDED ON. DRIVEN TO REFUSAL, WHICH IS TYPICALLY, THREE SETS OF TEN BLOWS, AT LESS THAN AN INCH EACH TIME.

We rented a complete pile driving system from Berminghammer in 2020 for a bridge job in Newfoundland. They were excellent to work with and the equipment performed 100%.

Lovely video. Can I have permission to use about a 10 second clip of this pile driver in action in one of my own videos? It would really help with an explanation I am trying to create. I will of course credit your channel.

I see that who ever set the checker to the pipe pile using a shackle didn’t pay attention during his/her rigging training because if they had they would have placed the shackle pin through the eye of the sling rather then the live end of the sling cable. That way you would eliminate the chance of the sling back spinning the shackle pin.

I grew up when steam hammers were the norm, saw diesel hammers come and go, now the hydrolic hammers are in. Vibro piling was very interesting.

Good work by the engineering firm. Seems pitifully small compared to the amount of pollution in the harbour though. Did they involve any environmental groups? I'd like to ask them what they thought of the solution.
