I am a Price(welsh family going back to 1150ad[House of Dinefwr or something like that]) and my family moved to penslyvannia sometime well before the civil war(I can't find when exactly) and presumably did some mining there until they along with many other prices(there is many spellings of the last name price but it is the anglicized version of ap Rhys meaning sons of rhys) moved near fort wayne but on the ohio side. Also one of the prices my dad was decendant of moved to oklahoma and married a native american. I had to research my ancestory for a history project and decided to put it here. Also if you are interested about the price family, it is decendant of a man named "Lord Rhys"(1155ad) who was king of Deubarth(south wales). A decendant of him founded the tudor dynasty of england. Just some cool facts.

The welsh not was pushed on to the welsh by their own people . There was no national curriculum , No british government ever enforced the welsh not or even forced school attendance , sending your child to school was voluntary and the "welsh not" punishment wouldve had consent from the parents , no teacher from England was ever involved in such a cruel act . This was welsh people trying to get local children the learn the common language of the biggest empire in the world

Why Wales and Scottish people don't proclaim independence

Just when you think you've seen everything on youtube, welsh nationalists saying they arent Britons. Its literally nonsense. "We will go home, we will go home" no you won't, you all live in Cheshire and Shropshire!

My father's side emigrated from Wales to Pennsylvania in the 1860s and did some (slate?) mining, then shortly joined a Welsh emigration society that bought land in Kansas that became Bala. My paternal, emigre "John Thomas" ( hard to track that name back :) had two sons who both participated in the "Big" Land Run into Oklahoma. Thomas Jefferson Thomas and I forget his brother's name. They were both one-room school teachers in Kansas and both homesteaded in north-central Oklahoma. I guess their wives didn't get along and the family split. I only learned of the other half of my Thomas family about 20 years ago. They'd been living in the next county over from the original homesteads all along. Don't think there's been mining in my Kansas/Oklahoma Thomas clan since Pennsylvania. My branch runs more to engineering ;)

Pretty disgusting how white nationalists, who are on the far right, have appropriated the FWA’s white eagle rune, which stands for the welsh fight against english oppression.
