Good playing! I love this song, I know it's challenging to try and get the rhythm right from personal experience. There's some tabs up for the live version from Paste Studios, you can watch him play it as well if you search that video. I really struggled with it lol. Very talented pair, real shame what happened.
@bobbyshomestudio9 күн бұрын
Yeah very aware of the Paste session and the live tabs, I usually try to play the recorded version of a song and try to make my own transcription as close as possible to what I hear. The Paste session video was very helpful for general tips on how Audun played it (using lots of upstrokes etc.) but wasn’t exactly the same as the part on the record. I’ve taken some reassurance from the fact that all of the tabs I’ve seen for this version are a little different; I think it’s just a little hard to hear, especially in the choruses. In any case, as long as the vibe is right it probably doesn’t matter too much exactly how many times you hit each note / dead note. Thanks for watching and for your nice comment!

I've added a link to the tab folder for the channel to the video description - I put a PDF of the GP8 transcription I made to play along in there if that's any use to you (sounds like you managed it by yourself though which is great!). I'll maybe try to get a video version up soon too.

@@Booksidontread thanks for checking it out! And thank you for reminding me that I had an updated tab version so I've changed the one linked in the drive - the changes aren't huge so the older one is fine, I just changed 1) added a slide articulation from F to G in the end section (mortified I missed this in my cover, it's pretty clear listening back) and 2) the end section from 6/4 to 3/4 because it was easier for me to look at

Great transcription, thanks. One of my basses is a Squier Affinity five string. After a setup and pickup urprade, it plays and sounds great. Squiers are underrated.

Oh cool! I have one of those 5s too, what pickups did you upgrade to?

@@bobbyshomestudio Wilkinson Alnico V pickups, very good vintage sound, record well, inexpensive.

Great playing. Incredible song. Do you have any information on the artist? Your playing sounds so crisp. Well done.
@bobbyshomestudio4 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have no idea about the artist except the name, I really wish I did. First heard it on the video ‘Italo Funk & Boogie with Fred Simon’, tried looking it up on Discogs and even got a copy of the single in case there was any more info on who played on this, but I haven’t found anything yet. Wish I spoke Italian so I could look into it more closely!
@rosbifle4133 ай бұрын
I heard it on the same playlist I think. I live on the border of Italy and France, my girlfriend is from Argentina but speaks Italian. We can't find any information either! I'm back again to listen to your playing. Have a nice day. 😉

Great cover. Really. Congratulations ! But (and this is just my opinion), I believe that the bass INTRO is played in a sort of mix finger playing / slap playing. The guy who played that riff, played it as easy as if he was playing classical guitar (don't know if what I'm saying is clear) .Anyways : I love your playing that bass line

Hey man 😎👍 great demo. I've been playin this too . Kinda hard to hear some of the notes on the recording, but that's the beauty of double bass ( 👍George Duvivier) what it is, i think - is timing, he simply doesn't play the notes you'd expect. Well, that's a consummate pro in a rhythm section 💕

I have that same bass but five string and sunburst. I upgraded the pickups to Wilkinson Alnico V, got a professional setup with fret-edge filing, and replaced the pick guard from black to tortoise. Unbeatable for the $$.
