Watched with tears in my eyes. What an amazing man St Gabriel was. He's among the most important influences leading me to Orthodoxy. And yesterday was His feast day! Great timing ❤

You have to get the permission of the Turks to do that... and for that to happen you will probably have to work with the Church of Cyprus to put in the request.

My parents were born in Cyprus and immigrated to the US in the late 1960s. They have since passed away. As a child and yiung adult, i visited Kypros 3 times, with my last time around 1992. I remember visiting this holy site (as well as several other churches) with my mother. At the time, i didnt appreciate the importance and beauty of st Lazarus' church. Now, in my 50s, i hope to one day visit Cyprus again, with my wife and teenage children.

These are really beautiful videos. Thank you for them! But what has happened to the other videos on Mt. Athos? They were wonderful, but I don't see them anymore.
@TrisagionJourneys-cl5ze5 ай бұрын
We removed them. One day, we will revisit Mt. Athos and make new, more professionally made videos than the old ones. The other issue with that mini-series was that we never finished it; the last episode was never made.

As I am told He is not just pointing to the Monastery but also to the fields of Kosovo where he died as a Martyr for Christ
@urossavic51547 ай бұрын
Another intrestic fact is that while his hands are vsisble and incorupt. (I was there myself). His head is missing because the Ottomans Cut it of. St. Car Lazar pray to Christ our God for us. Amin
His Relics should be visible on the 29th of June where we commemorate and honor him aswell as all Martyrs of Kosovo. This day is known as "Vidovdan" because our troops fastet before going to battle. So do we fast on this day.

This great saint who loves us as Christ loves us; who tried all his life to join with Christ and is now joined with Him in His heavenly kingdom, and who still remains with us in his prayers to Christ! Holy Father Gabriel pray unto God for us who have lost our way that through repentance we too may join with Christ our God!

Thanks for the video. I am Turkish Cypriot with crypto-christian roots from the village of Armenohori . Your videos have helped me discover the faith of my ancestors further and deeper than what the stories from my grandparents brought me, and also motivated me to learn the Greek alphabet and read further into theology as ı already learned Greek from my grandparents as it was their native language. İt should not have been as surprising as it was to me seing my countrymen doing such fruitfull work ı always had an inkling of feeling that father panayiotis was a Cypriot. I have to add that almost all Churches were either converted to mosques or animal pens, most were renovated with EU or UN money very recently, this began even before the invasions in a lot of places where Christians abandoned after the beggining of the internal conflict in 1958 with the founding of TMT(Turkish Paramilitary Organisation) for example the Church of Lurujina, it is even more tragic to say that the Muslim inhabitants of the village were mostly crypto christians (λινοπαμπακοι) and ı remember reading that they were denied mass baptism in 1928 because of Turkish and British pressure(i am not sure of the validity of this, if anyone knows further ı would like to be illuminated) There are Churches and monasteries in far worse condition, not only Greek but also Maronite(like The church of Prophet Elijah in Shilloura) and Armenian(like sorup Magar in Kyrenia) and a further point about the condition of tombs is that their condition is not a result of abandonement but purposefull desecration and looting, they were dug up by not only Turkish settlers but also by some Turkish Cypriots in order that they may find golden and silver anamels, some even took crosses home or sold them as souveniers from cemeteries. Without delving too deep ı also have to add that the tomb of apostle Barnabas was also looted if memory does not betray me in 1998, many icons were stolen,a large majority is still lost some were found if ı am not wrong precisely just two, one in Turkey and one as i remember in the US. The lost ones are probably collecting dust in some private collection. Μαραζωννω πολλά για την καταστησην της Πατρίδας μας.Με το θέλημαν του θεού εννά ανακτήσουμεν την χαμένην μας αξιοπρεπείαν. Η Τζύπρος εννά σωθεί!

It will probably be very difficult to get permission to film there. They dont allow anything that can take pictures enter the monastery, they have you keep it in a safe before you enter.
